He'll stay in the NBA, just don'tknow where. Although him playing in Greece could be the biggest opportunity to make the funniest documentary of all time. Just couldn't imagine him in a lockerroom full of Euros.

From AI's twitter.

"My people just informed me that we are getting close to a deal. I asked them to call me when its done. I am so ready to know!

I have not been this eager with anticipation since the night before the NBA Draft in 96. Then I knew where I was going, now I want to know.

If you think that I am just going away-Think again! I am getting ready for the NBA season. Waiting for the call. Charlotte, Miami, NY.

Getting in shape, running, lifting and thinking about which team that I will help compete for a championship! Whoever gets me will be happy.

I have had a year to get ready, my back is fine now don't worry. When you see me again you will think that I am fresh out of Georgetown!

I have heard all of the doubters, but they should know that I will not be broken and I will remain true to my fans."

WAG, Can't wait for this. Will forever love the team who signs him. As Pat Riley himself said "Whoever lands Iverson will land the biggest bargain in a long time"

have to admire the guy's bravado but he is living in denial(and knowing him he probably is) if he actually thinks he is going to make miami or ny or charlotte anywhere close to being a contender...

Michael Beasley checking into counselling and rehab for apparent suicidal thoughts and substance abuse. Holy ****. This saddens me a fair bit.

Iverson's twitter said:
I am looking forward to meeting the owner of the Memphis Grizzlies on tomorrow, along with his staff. I want to help them develop a winner.
Somebody kill me please. Hate the Grizzlies so so much. Playing a whole season of 2k10 might be the end of me.

One way of looking at their situation is that Memphis has turned Pau into Marc, Zbo and Iverson. Maybe they aren't so terrible at life after all.

I think they'll be a ridiculously potent offensive team with a lot of guys who have a lot to prove. Problem is they have another novice coach and he has to find a way to get them motivated and find a structure and style of play that will get them good looks and not be a sieve defensively.

Their division is absolutley brutal though. Spurs, Mavericks, Hornets, Rockets, Memphis. Haha wow.

Would be the biggest season-to-season salary drop in history? 21mil to 3.
Apart from retirees yes. Bloke doesn't need the money, that lifetime contract from Reebok will tide him over just fine.

Gonna be ordering a Grizzlies away jersey I think. Apparently in jersey sales AI was behind only Kobe, Lebron, KG and CP3 last year which is quite incredible. Memphis will recoup their 3.5 mill and then some in crappy merchandise alone this year. Hope he has a good year and some ****y contenders gives him the MLE next season.

*sigh*

I'm going to be watching Zach Randolph 82 times this year.

Heh, a team which has won 65 games in 3 seasons, sells out less than 1/4 of their games and is the redheaded step child in comparison to the Memphis Tigers is really going to be worse off with a 10 time All Star and HOF guard. Heh.

Memphis has been blasted by all and sundry over the past three seasons and then again in the draft for taking Thabeet who 90% of pundits predicted was going to be a bust and now all of a sudden Iverson coming in so going to ruin their "solid young core?" Heh, despite the fact that they have all come out and said how excited they were to play with a legend.

Yeah, the Grizzlies are taking such a huge risk with Iverson they have it all to lose ffs.

EDIT: Heh, just read that properly. They're using usage rate to slate Iverson? Hahahaha, previously when it was really high people would call him a ballhog, but all of a sudden when he didn't dominate the ball and still got 18 ppg he's being carted for that too. Haha. Try again.

Wow, that's close to the dumbest thing I've ever read. It's like trying to read an impartial article about Citeh, they just don't exist. City fans exaggerate everything and everyone else just writes rubbish at every turn.

If the draft combine demo is anything to go by, I really like the way we can now control the post moves. You can fake one way, spin, and lay it up the other way. Love it. Might play purely as a PF this time around.

So the preseason has kicked in and Bulls rookies have impressed so far. Really liking Taj. He was picked up for his D but he seems hell bent to prove he's not one dimensional.

All this Portland nuthugging that's going on is doing my head in tbh. A couple of points imo:

1. They have a young nucleus but that doesn't guarantee **** with regards to them getting better or significantly better. As an Arsenal fan I for one have seen every week for the past few years that going making the step up for young players from a good team to a truly elite one is the hardest step of all.

They are more or less destined by what happens to Greg Oden, as it stands they seem like a team of nearly men imo and with all the contract extensions they are going to have to give they won't be in a position to get a true superstar without giving up a few members of said youg nucleus.

2. The guy they brought in to put them over the top is completely not the right guy for the job. He is a point guard who is an inconsistent outside shooter and will not be able to space the floor as well as a Steve Blake, etc. I'm a huge Andre Miller fan going back to his days in Denver, but he's a soft-spoken player who has never started for an elite team. The guy they are counting on to bring veteran leadership to their team has never won big or won in the playoffs. He is no Chauncey, they should havve thrown everything at getting Vinsanity or Hedo.

They are a good team and will be a very good team for a long time but people talking about dynasties and being a contender right now are getting way ahead of themselves and the Denver will finish behind them bs is making my head break.

Any news on what's happening with Mills, duffer? I know he's out with a foot injury, but is there any chance he'll get a start at the Blazers?
