Even though I can't watch it, the mere thought of Oram facing Murali is sufficient to cause me to break out in a cold sweat.

Man, Murali has bowled a monumental spell: 25 overs and 3 for 46.

That knee seems alright, although I dont think he is hitting the crease as hard as he normally does.

Murali is still going. Dont know that he, or other spinners, should keep going. Time to bring the quicks back in. Past time really.

Ryder has batted well, I think. Very composed. Good batting.

Murali's shoulder is going to fall off, been bowling mostly as a leggie today. Unreal bowler.

Murali bowled beautifully and so has Thushara. Big blow that Mathews is injured, and that throws the whole team off balance. If he could have bowled would have nipped another wicket. He is much more lively than Kulasekara in pace.

SL needs to get rid of Kulasekara in the next test and bring on Malinga or Prasad to cut out the crap. McIntosh would not be liking that idea of a 140k bowler coming back, and Ross Taylor definietly would not enjoy seeing Malinga.

Did Vettori before the tour say they want a draw? I dont know i didnt enjoy yesterday the pitch was good enough for the kiwis to have a go get close to lanka's score then maybe take a few runs lead. Always should go for a win IMO. Thats what will make test cricket alive.

Anyhow still could be excting final day if we have 180 overs left.

The batsmen - McIntosh and Taylor basically closed shop and let Murali, Mendis go through with their overs. I don't know. I don't think they would have lasted long if they had decided to attack more.

The attacking shots Taylor went for were slog sweeps which didn't work except for a six and almost resulled in his dismissal.

I hear it all the time from the nz camp, we're playing for time... how bout play to win for once.

Yep, it seems if the blackcaps don't lose by an Innings, we take it as a victory.
Name me one person who thinks like this.

To be honest, we've held out longer against Murali and Mendis than I thought we would have...the guys who get starts (almost everyone) needed to go on with it though, I guess that comes with experience. Not a terrible effort from us, we werent completely blown out of the water which many were expecting to happen, which is a good sign.

A draw in test cricket is like saying.... we didnt lose the game we just ran out of time.

so when they say they're playing for time, it just puts them into a "we cant win this" way of thinking... and on the flip side "at least we didn't lose...
