Better now than never. The selectors are finally thinking. Hodge still should have been in the T20 squad ahead of Voges. Not sure about Feguson as a T20 bat, but we'll see. Is Marsh injured still?

Tim Paine! For the future! Disappointed that Hopes is still in the squad, what for seriously? And White for ODIs? Bit dodgey there.

At least it's a step in the right direction with the T20 squad, finally picking specialists, but again left out Hodge. Considering he's only 34 next years World Cup could have been his last hurrah.

Ponting to never play a T20 for Australia again?

I think he might slip quietly into retirement in this form of the game, and focus on Test and the ODIWC2011

Hussey's ODI performances have been perfectly fine. It's one of the reasons he hasn't been dropped from the Test team yet, IMO.
That is the one thing of selecting teams I hate. Why do selectors think that performances in ODI cricket = a spot in the Test team? If his Test form is ****, then it should be judged to be **** and go from there. How he plays in ODI cricket should not be relevant.

And why can Nannes play for Holland a few months ago and now he can play for Australia? WTF?

To mine, it's not completely irrelevant. If we're talking about a short time span between the different forms of hte game, then how he's actually hitting the ball, how his feet are moving, those things are relevant to whether or not he's going to score runs in the Test arena.

Holland's an Associate member. You can play for an Associate team and then go a Test-playing nation with no worries, but once you play for a Test-playing country, you have to requalify for any other country you want to play for, UIMM.

That's a load of crap (the ruling that is). Nannes decided to play for Holland, so he should only be allowed to play for them, and I would be happily in favour of the one country only rule. You make your bed, so therefore you should lie in it.

The T20 squad is still arse with Michael Clarke in it and captain but it's better than the WC, that's for sure.

Wouldn't surprise me, he certainly doesn't mind missing them.
Yeah, Ponting should really think about his future in the format, because if he doesn't play in these T20 internationals, then he has no right to push for a spot for the T20 WC squad, and the same applies for most Aussie blokes who see T20 games as an opportunity to cool their heels.

Surprised that they have gone ahead and picked Nannes now, but anyways if he can play T20, then should also be playing for Australia in the ODI format.

Very surprised to see blokes like Mussey and Bracks being dropped form the T20 side, they haven't had the greatest of times in this particular format in the recent times, but that doesn't mean they aren't good enough to play in T20 format.

Another surprise inclusion for me is White', he has had a lot to opportunities prove himself, but he hasn't done much to prove his worth, I think it was about time that someone like George Bailey or Birt got a chance ahead of him.

Nah, he will come good in this format, just need to emulate Kallis and start opening the innings in the T20's.

Don't we need Warner and Watson opening? Even Haddin should open before Clarke! I'd say considering Clarke is in such good form we should give him a last shot in the middle order and if he fails then move on.

Does seem unfair, I agree. However, if the rule was changed tomake it that playing full ODIs for any country means you have to requalify for another, guys like Nannes would never play for associates in the first place because it'd compromise their chances of test recognition.
