Haven't you been saying since before the series started that Clark is unthreatening and just goes for 0/20 off 15 overs and so on?

Really though, the decision not to select him until now looks astonishingly poor. Admittedly the likely victim at Cardiff would have been Hilfenhaus who has been very good, but Clark brings so much stability to the attack, even when he's not taking wickets. There's no way he's not part of the best Australian XI.

When fit. From what I understood, the doubts over his fitness kept him out initially.

Supported by some good fielding too. Been a good session for the team in general.

Absolutely, always been a fan of Clark's. Gives Ponting so much more control.

Should also note 4 of those 7 runs were edged to third man.

Australia were excellent this morning, aided by some pretty crap batting mind. Prior looks awful against half decent bowling (almost half his runs this morning in edges). Unless Bopara does something in the 2nd innings or with the ball I reckon he's getting the axe. Still don't understand why Broad bats ahead of Swann, looked pretty clueless against the short stuff. Anderson could cause some problems here, amazed they went for Harmison ahead of Sidearse, think they'll regret that, Watson will murder his short stuff. Clark tested out the techiniques of the English batsmen and suffice to say they failed miserably, Flower will be furious. Anyone else noticed how much Cook plants his front foot and just pushes at the ball with his hands? Terrible stuff.

The best England can get out of this is to finally belatedly realise that Bell is a total waste of space. You're better of picking someone relatively crap with a strong mind than the other way around. Same goes for Bopara who happens to have a crap technique and a weak mind.

With any luck Harmison will show up Broad for the nothing bowler he is and we'll have a small glimmer of winning at The Oval

Have been in favour of his selection since the Northants game. It was going into Cardiff that I thought the selectors had got it right (and given how he was only going to play in place of Hilfenhaus, it's hardly a horrendous call even in hindsight). Even on that count I might have to pay out, given just how good he's been so far.
