Pakistan down 3 wickets and Umar Akmal's highly anticipated debut is here. I have high hopes for this kid.

Terrific bowling from the Sri Lankan seamers. Kulasekara, Malinga and Thushara is a good mix. The dependeble seamer, the slingy speedster and the swing of the left armer.

If ever Shahid Afridi after 277 ODI games has grown any brains, now is the time to show it.

This is apalling batting from both sides except possiblt Sanga (1st match), Kapugedara and Samaraweera. Still they are also not up to the mark. They should ask Aravinda how to play on these kind s of tracks which resemble mid 90s pitches, where ODIs have been truely thrilling.

Jaya been dropped? Malinga injured?

Looks like Umar Gul has been axed as well for Rana Naved. After his heroics in England, Gul has a very poor tour.

Good to see Akmal Jr. in the runs but not sure why Alam is batting so slow, his not a hitter.

What a depressing series i will try to clutch as many straws as possible and say in Aamir and U.Akmal we have discovered two guys who wil be regulars in the side for the next decade.

Congratulations to SL on dominating the whole tour! They deserved to win the Test and ODI series'. As Xuhaib mentioned, it was a depressing tour for Pakistan. I suppose there was to be some rustiness expected in the Test series, though it also carried over to ODI’s. I hope we give the proper support/coaching to the young talent we have and slowly build for the future.

wow surprisingly this time when the bating did better the bowling and fielding let them down..

this is my personal opinion... people may dissagree.. I think pakistan needs a batting coach.. Maybe if they could get Javid Miandad for this job...I think he is the only one who could fix the the batting technics of some of these young batsmans...throughout the tournment the fast bowlers bowled very well and the credit could go to Aqib Jawid..their spin bowling has been brillient.. even Danish Kaneria did very well on his single test that he played... this credit goes to Intekhab Alam.. the Batting keeps failing and failing.. maybe they need a batting coach..

^ Javed will never take the post because he'll consider being a batting coach a demotion. At this point, I don't think Javed will even agree to the Coach's job. I think nothing short of PCB Chairman will suffice. So someone else needs to be recruited. I'm at a loss for a good candidate within Pakistan.

I personally think SL bowled expectionally well and triggered various batting collapses for Pakistan. However, i am not going to deny a gut feeling about Misbah and Malik underperforming intentionally. Its a long history of Pak cricket that their have been groups with in the team and these groupings have caused great harm in the past...

Dude we were crap just admit it.

Pakistan handling of Kulasakera has been comical sure he has bowled but the way they kept getting out to the same ball game after game was embarrasing, a slight adjustment in their stance would have done them a world of good all they did was stay rooted to the crease and were dead as a duck when the ball hit their pads.

If you really watched all the matches, ask your conscience if what Faisal1985 said is totally wrong?
Now,even Abdul Qadir has advised the board to do a thorough inquiry.

So was EVERYONE in the batting lineup underperforming on purpose? No one had a stellar series. I think it’s silly to suggest they purposely underperformed because of factionalism in the team. How assured are guys like Malik and Misbah of their spot on the team? How can they wager they’ll still have a spot in the team if they suck it up? It would be awesomely stupid on anyone’s part to bet they can get away with underperforming (so Younis can be axed as Captain?) without losing their spot in the lineup.

Abdul Qadir is Sarfraz Nawaz mark II.

Sometimes its good to admit that Pakistan is just good enough. Pakistan has remained barely competitve in this decade due to the heroics of Inzi,Yusuf nd Younis. The only time the team has looked world class for a brief period is when these 3 were backed by Shoaib and Asif with Kaneria and Akmal enjoy their peak form apart from this the results has been largely patchy.

Guys like Misbah, Malik and Butt are limited and they were found out in seaming conditions and unfortunatley both Younis and Yusuf had their first bad series in 4 years and the problems compounded.
