Watto doesn't seem to rate Onions at all despite getting out to him in the first dig. He's absolutely murdered him with regular efficiency in both innings.
Playing the spin well aswell.

As ikki has said, reckon we're hyping the English attack up tbh. They're bowling well, but we seem to be overly cautious.

It's Onions and Swann FFS. Not Waqar and Murali. Really disappointed with our other batsmen. I feel they are giving them too much credit and second guessing themselves.
wat?

Ponting is obviously a class player, but he was just beaten by a ball that was too good for him, simple as that. Not like he made some massive error of judgement or anything.

It really wasn't a great ball; his bat was too far from his pad. A stupid mistake. I can't wait for Clarke to get on because he will take Swann to the cleaners. Swann is decent, but give me an effing break.

Disagree, tbh. Katich was playing too many shots, if anything. &, as PhF said, Ponting didn't do too much wrong. Swann did him in the flight and it turned square. Can't really blame him too much.

RR over 4 per over currently, hardly gone into your shells.

Talking about the series generally. Katich got himself out with the wrong shot and no footwork, and as you said Ponting just got a stunner, albeit without playing with bat and pad together.

Our run-rate has been good indeed, as Watson and Hussey are playing their shots, which is exactly what they should be doing. Over the series so far, I feel we've been way tentative, and most of our bigger partnerships have come in quick time (Clarke/Haddin anyone?).

St Ricky gets booed by an English crowd. Boo ****ing hoo. Never see rowdy behaviour from the crowds in Oz do we?
Haha, disgraceful.

It's what a good ball from an offie does - it draws the bat away from the pad with the drift, then spins back through the gate.
, it was Swann's standard off-break and Ricky did himself with an amatuerish mistake. That's about it.

Ok, tell yourself that. If you think Swann's standard offie spins from outside off to middle and leg your even more clueless than i thought.

Fair dos, thought you meant today.

Even so tho, you gifted us about 5 wickets (IIRC) in the first dig at Lords hooking or pulling. So still not convinced being overly passive is the issue for your batsmen.

It's the mindset and second-guessing yeah? To me, that screams that something is wrong with our thinking. Normally we'd put them away, but I think the batsmen are tentative instead of going for it.

Anyway, you smell. Really, really badly.

Considering you've barely been on the site, it's a wonder you've already formed an opinion about me.

I think that's been the problem. Often, you dont want to show that you're tentative and you go for your shots, yet those shots aren't ones you'd be taking in hindsight if you weren't so overly concerned. That's how I feel we've been batting. Just awful stuff.

I almost get the feeling that Australia fear losing the Ashes so much that at the whiff of England doing well we start to second guess everything.
