Interesting never knew pre-season tour games get much TV away from the local district.
But either way i'd reckon Sheva is only looking good because of the inept quality of opposition. He just aint suit of for the premiership TBH. Liverpool where very dumb for losing Keane, but then again i guess he never really could have fit into the reds 4-2-3-1 set-up.

The only news (heh) I've been reading is that City are offering 15 million for Kolo. Probably the only movement I'm expecting between now and the start of the season.

Yeah, apparently all the pre-medicals are done and there's no concerns. High price really, but we're always going to have to pay a tax because people know we can pay over the odds. All this talk of us paying 30m for Lescott is a bit ridiculous though, he's decent and we probably need him but that's the highest fee for an English defender since Ferdinand, and he's nowhere near that good. He's a 15m player at the most really.

If I was a City fan I wouldn't care about the price really. Money is the biggest irrelevance for you guys anyway, it's about the quality of player coming in being an upgrade or not.
He probably would be an upgrade but he hasn't played anywhere near the godly level we saw during our CL Final run and the half season after. You never know, the change of scene might be what's needed for him to get back to his best. Personally think he needs a dominant stopper next to him to hide his flaws but I guess you guys would be onto the first one available when the opportunity comes around.
While you guys are hoovering up our Africans, how's your **** quota? Maybe we could interest you in an Ivorian who satisfies both counts?
EDIT: Good business for us though. Just depends if we're using it to pay the loan or invest back into the squad. I've said my piece many times over regarding the prices the club charges the fans and the amount they spend but suffice to say my beliefs on the matter are well known.

Funnily enough I was browsing goal the other day and was reading this article which had this particular line:

Seeing as though there's been absolutely no other tangible link to this I seriously doubt it'd ever happen, and can only assume it's goal just making **** up about us again (again and again and again and again and again and again etc etc). Seeing as though it looks like we've already taken two key players from you I can't see Wenger shipping Eboue our way either, as despite everything he seems to rate him.

I want to know this: when economic times are not good, people are still lucky if they turn up to work and still have a job by the end of the day, how on earth can the club justify such prices for a season ticket or how people manage to have the money to pay for it. I would rather keep that £1500 in my own back account in reserve for a rainy day then fork out for a season ticket. I would look on the calendar and book a long time in advance for any home games I wanted to go to (I think you have to book something like 6 weeks in advance for any of the big clubs). Sure I can't go to all 38 games, plus the European and FA and League Cup games, but you just cope with it.

Well my suggestion was in jest, he's handy to have around the squad and plenty talented. Just is such a frustrating player to watch. Will make the exact same mistake over and over again, sometimes within a minute or two of each other. Seems to have no capacity to learn and hes a horrible cheat too, actually think if he has a manager who won't tolerate his bollocks he could be an asset to a top team.
If people are willing to pay it the prices won't go down. At a club like Arsenal with decade long waiting lists for tickets there will always be more suckers waiting to pounce on their opportunity no matter what, hoping that one day we become contenders again.
They are having bigger problems selling the corporate boxes itbt, all the corporate fans who want to take their mates out for a day at the Arsenal are the ones who demand big name singings and trophies so that Arsenal is the chic ticket in town. Apparently signing Arshavin instead of a defensive player was borne out of the need to satisfy the corporates. Wouldn't mind a couple more like that really.

Inter just got the steal of the decade. Unbelievable how that transfer took place. I can only imagine that Barca wanted to also make a splash after the Real spending; but they've done a "cut their nose to spit their face" kinda thing.

True. But the Serie A is very slow paced. The fact that Maldini & Cafu could play so long as defenders, plus Inzaghi when he has been past his best since Euro 2004. But Sheva was nowhere close to being first choice at AC Milan.
He best option is to MAYBE stick with Milan or go to Dynamo Kiev, since he is clearly passed his peak.

He looked slow in Serie A. No amount of man love from coach and boss will get him through a season in England despite looking decent in a pre-season commercial knock around. Serie A starts last week of August (doesn't it?), Milan players were still working off their holiday fat.

Eto’o has unashamedly stated that if he was to move from Barca, he just wanted a pay day, so I would question his motivation. Zlatan in contrast to Eto’o has everything to prove. On paper it looks like good business but when you factor in that Eto’o never wanted to leave, it could go **** ass very quickly.
The only real bones of contention in the deal were the disparity in the players respected transfer fees, I didn’t understand and the valuation of Zlatan still seems absurd.
