Demolition Man

State Vice-Captain
Everyone on here was expecting him to play; no-one anywhere was expecting Hilfenhaus to play. Join the dots. No-one confirmed "Clark is in our minds" because it seemed so obvious.

Whereas in 2005 there was one reference to the idea of Hussey coming in anywhere that I've seen, by Jesse AKA Slow LoveTM on here. The middle-order was a closed shop and everyone but everyone was expecting it to do decently enough in the five Tests.
Hussey dominated in the ODI series over there and there were ripples, perhaps not in of all quarters the media but there was some talk suggesting England could not get him out and he should be in the test side. I vividly remember it as In was one of those pushing for his inclusion.

So if Watto bowls ok here today and manages to avoid breaking a finger on a scratchy before the test starts, has he done enough?
I would have thought so, really depends how he is bowling, if he is getting movement, would love for this match to be televised.

Any idea how Johnson's actually bowling? 3 overs for 21 would suggest not well, but if they're all edges for 4 then it'd be ok

We need these Northants bats to chop a few Johnno deliveries onto their stumps IMO
Did the business yesterday, dropped Hughes, worked him over yet still got him into the third test. Shame they just can’t smack a Johnson half volley into the slips South African style, seems like all the young kids are creaming it through the covers.

No way he misses out IMO

Oz selectors will either stick their head in the sand and pick the same team (extremely likely) or drop North for Watson to compensate with a 5th bowler
AWTA. Unless SoC is right and he rules himself out, Johnson will play at Edgbaston. May not take the new nurry, though....

Dropping any of Langer, Ponting, Martyn, Clarke or Katich at any point in that series would've been plain madness, and I'd like to see the person who suggested Hayden should be dropped as well.

Tbf, it was Niall O'Brien who took Johnners apart, and I doubt the Dubliner's going to be going out of his way to help England.
