On day 5 in Sydney Dravid was given out caught behind and he didn't hit it. Completely out of character of course, anumber of Indian fans saw this as a sign of enormous conspiracy because "Gilchrist and all the close fielders MUST have known he didn't hit it".

We don't mention they lost 9 other wickets in 2 sessions incl 3 in the last over to a part timer on a featherbed.

Oooh - nice arm ball there from Swann does for North.
And that Symonds and Ponting nicked back which were heard in London but not somehow reached the eardrums of Bucknor.

On closer inspection, I don't think that ball actually hit the stumps. Was more of a sudden dramatic wind change I think. Terrible stroke of luck for North.

Why wouldn't he? He must have known he didn't hit it.
He looked remarkably un-discontented for one who knew so obviously.

And as Seam F00lins said a few posts back - 2005/06, Gilchrist walked for one he missed. Very occasionally, batsmen think they've nicked something they haven't.

Whether Hussey knew he'd missed that or not I doubt we'll ever know, he's not one to moan.

Yeah, he looked dreadful in that very most recent game where he was helping put Australia in an impregnable position. 8-)
 True. How quickly we forget. Was thinking it was Hussey who got the hundred for some reason.

Looked very very poor these last couple of days.

Thing is, your point is (with respect) a really poor one. Prior should have appealed for that 100 times out of 100. And given Australia's record of over-appealing both in recent years and (on numerous occasions) at Cardiff, it really doesn't sit easily for Aussie fans to complain about other side's over-appealing
Completely disagree, I found the appealing of england in australias innings in cardiff at times to be comical. Sure they were desperate for anything but it was embarrising.

Isn't it great that we can both have an opinion.

Worst test performance from Australia in recent memory? :(

Hard to say what changes (realistically) would help. Think we have the team pretty much right, they just need the current team to play better.

Not sure that was the only thing we were bitching about tbh. I maintain if they left the Harbhajan thing and sorted it out after the match none of the tension would've been there despite the umpiring.

Yes but if they can't , for example Johnsons inability to not bowl pies, changes have to be made.

Yup. Good to know that for once England's best was conclusively better than Australia's best. :)

Guess they were rolled over for a big margin in the India series. But yes, against the "enemy" it adds salt to the wound.
