Really fancy an English win, might make up for our direness in other sports.

Paul Casey would be the fave, has had a really solid season. Dougherty, Wilson, Fisher and Westwood have chances too.

Yet ****ing Ian Poulter will get all the hype in this country oddly, I think it's coz he wears funny trousers, lolz8-)

Yeah, and he finished second in the Players, but I do think his extravagant personality gets him much more press then he deserves.

Casey & Dougherty desreve more attention, IMHO. Odd that they're both quite so smiley on the course as they're both Faldo protégés....

casey was in the mix on sunday at the masters last year and the way he has been playing this year, he is probably due although he has disappointed at the 1st two majors....has dougherty ever contended in a major before? don't remember seeing him near the top of the leaderboard at a major....

No Dougherty hasn't competed in a major yet. He's probably one for the future actually. but he's got all the attributes needed to be a top player one day.

Bit more wind today this morning, they say it may get better later on, but still any score under par will be gold. Jimenez, Casey and Curtis all tumbling down the leaderboard.

Goosen and JD going well.

Kuboya leads the Open.

Not anymore. Watson still tied for it after round 2.

Woods just finished at +5 and looks like he'll miss the cut (no 10 shot rule).

Liking Lee Westwood for the weekend here - currently at -2 with leaders at -5.

He WILL miss the cut. Shame for the biggest draw in golf to be missing over the weekend, but he generally isn't great at links golf. Makes it all seem a bit farcical that people were saying that Padraigs championship last year was tainted because Woods wasn't there.

Yeah, Westwood looking okay backed him w/o Woods funnily enough, bit pointless now. Kaymer, Furyk, Cabrera and Singh the ones I'd wish to have put my money on. Would be surprised if the winner didn't come from that lot.

59 year old watson on top and woods misses the cut!!! didn't see that coming...:-O

padraig won't three-peat...i don't think watson will win, hope singh can make a run at it...cabrera, furyk, jimenez, goosen in the mix...will kaymer win 3 in a row?

I wasn't going to write off Padraigs chance of a three-peat too early, because he has come from a fair ways back to win before, but it's over now. :(

Wilson going well this morning, if he can get a good score in, then the wind gets up, who knows?

Ross Fisher says he's leaving the course, if his wife goes into labour, even if he's leading the Open by 10. Hmm can't say I agree with that decision, but there ya go....

As he won't have his phone switched on, it'll surely depend on when his agent gets the call - could imagine there may be a delay in the news getting through to him if he's in the mix coming down the back 9.

Looks like Watson is going to be there or thereabouts at the end tomorrow - difficult to believe I might be tempted to channel hop while England are beating the Oz at Lords but being a sentimentalist I may have to

fisher one back....i still don't think watson is going to win....but the guy is a 5 time open champ and a past-winner at turnberry in spectacular fashion so it would be stupid to totally count him out....singh has slid out of contention, furyk, westwood, goosen, fisher in with a real chance...cabrera within shouting distance...

Should be fun, anyone from about 3 over could win if they post a decent score and the wind gets up, which is very likely with the weather the way it is.

Lets just hope Westwood and Fisher can beat Goggins and keep to a pom-bashing-crims theme:)

Would love to see Goggin get up. I don't think it's likely, but I'm glad he's in a grouping with Tom Watson. Think he'd be a good guy to play with in the final round.
