Glad to hear about Jericho's book, currently re-reading a Lion's Tale. In fact I literally just got off my bed and sat down where this thread was already open after putting it down haha. But yeah I was a bit gutted it ended before he talked about his WWE days, I was afraid that he was gonna wait until he was completely done with the 'E before he wrote the next installment, so i'm definitely looking forward to that one.

Yeah I thought this as well, so glad it's coming, however, as he is still working for the E I worry that he might not give the full picture and hold back on what he really thinks. For instance, I'm sure he has a lot of very negative stuff to say about Vince and certainly HHH, but to come out and say any of it whilst still working closely with them would not be a good career move to say the least. Would be really really interested to know what he made of his Undisputed title reign and his reflections on the deaths of Eddie and Benoit.

Could be an issue, but also if you remember from Mick Foley's second book he actually quoted the conversation where Vinnie Mac told them not to gut the first book by taking out Foley's negative views, and preferred the book to be true to Foley's word and so on. I'd think by now you'd have to afford Jericho the same level as respect Mick Foley got back then. I have high hopes that they wouldn't want to mess the book up that way.

Indeed, though I would say that WWE censors a lot more stuff you don't want you to see/hear about than they did back around 2000. However, Jericho's books aren't published by or associated with WWE in any way, so effectively they have no control over the content which is refreshing, so basically whatever Jericho wants to go in will go in.

On a side note, regarding the smackdown spoilers...highlight the below...

What the hell is with CM Punk losing cleanly to John Morrison again? Morrison is great and all, but Punk is (once again) looking like a very feeble world champion when he's losing to midcarders week in and out.
Morrison is being built up as a main eventer as he's most likely getting a title shot after NOC is he not?

Smackdown was awesome again this week. Brilliant opening promo by CM Punk and I'm really liking his work as a heel. He plays the smug, arrogant straight edge heel to perfection and he is far superior to Jeff Hardy in his in ring work and in his promo work.

The Edge and Chris Jericho segment was fantastic as well and it firmly solidified Edge's status as a face when he comes back. The crowd were completely behind Edge and Jericho was on his game playing the heel. An Edge and Chris Jericho feud once Edge has recovered would be awesome.

I am in love with Maryse btw, so so much
Haha, oh indeed.

Saw a bit of Smackdown today. That Pretty Ricky guy raised an eyebrow I must say. Almost feel off the sofa when I heard Bret's music. Had no idea they set up a Hart stable. Hope they do well.

Speaking of the women in WWE, for me it has to be Gail Kim, Layla and Eve. The three hottest divas in WWE for me. Maryse is incredibly attractive but she just comes across really smug, but to her credit she plays her role really well.

Maryse and Melina

But onto real wrestling opinions, me and my friend was having a discussion today and we have come up with who Jericho is going pick as his new partner, who hasn't been seen on Television in the last couple of months, a heel and when he was last on television was looking for a tag partner thats right we are proposing that THE BRIAN KENDRICK will be a unified tag team champion with Jericho come Night of Champions

Turn Christian Heel, give him Edge's slot, have Jericho and Christian tag-teaming until Edge gets back at Wrestlemania as a face, kicks the crap out of Jericho in the match of the night, and then goes straight into a feud with Christian that lasts until Summerslam.

Won't happen, but man it would be awesome.

Anyone seen Redemption Song the reality series hosted by Jericho?

It's trashy, low brow and you feel dumber after watching an episode, yet it's ridiculously addictive television.

Just watched one of those Vintage WWE episodes, and it had a cruiserweight battle royale from the '98 WCW Slamboree PPV.

That's all well and good, but the clincher is that the winner was to get a shot at Jericho's title immediately afterwards, so the man himself came out and introduced the participants in the battle royale. There were some gems in there, but the ones I remember are:

"He's too poor to buy a mask, so he's got facepaint on! But I promise you he'll have to get one soon enough!"

"Johnny Scissors? Johnny Swinger? Anyone heard of this guy? I sure haven't"

"He's from Out of Town, PA. Oh, he's poor, and he's looking for a place to stay tonight."

Gold.

Haha I watched that on youtube a while back, absolutely great stuff, shame his character these days doesn't really let him cut promos like that anymore.

Norwood's on Fire
Indeed, but it is a testament to how great a performer he is that he was both able to reinvent himself to such an extent and actually justify it believably, something that rarely happens in wrestling.

Punk-Morrison a ripper again. Looks like they'll square up at Summerslam.

Just watched Smackdown (the highlights on Afterburn anyway), looked like a solid show, need to try and catch this more often. I really liked the way JR handled the commentary at the end of the show, really keeping Punk tweener rather than fully fledged heel, him saying "Punk just watching on, and quite frankly, can you blame him?" in response to Jeff Hardy being attacked by Jericho after the match, good stuff, makes the whole thing much more realistic in my opinion.

Also caught that Vintage collection show G was on about earlier, Kidman v Juve Juice was a solid match, always liked Kidman, but thought that ever since he joined the E he became a bit stale, liked him much more when he went for the denim jeans look. Also showed Essa Rios v Jeff Hardy from March 2000. I actually remember watching that match at the time, good stuff, so weird to see Jeff Hardy look so young.

Are they pushing any cruiserweight s atm?
Evan Bourne (Matt Sydal) has been getting a lot of exposure recently, and picked up a fair few wins and is clearly getting a push (apparently HHH singled him out as the companies best young talent, so not a great surprise).

Rey has been given a good run as of late as well, his match with Jericho at The Bash was really awesome, not seen him put in a performance like that for ages, was a match of the year candidate.

Other than that though, not really, not that I can think of anyway.

Bourne was the one with the sick moonsault wasn't he?

I remember he got a bit of burn last year. He needs a few genuine rivvals in his division though, his size makes him hard to book for against bigger guys all the time.

Is the small guy who is an awesome high flyer, not sure about moonsault, but the guy has the best shooting star press I have ever seen, gets so much air. Has recently been moved to RAW, but like you say, lack of guys in his weight division are making it a bit of a sticky move. Has had a few good matches with Kofi Kingston, but has spent a lot of the rest of his time being squashed by Big Show, circa Rey in 2002, which nobody really wants to see. Have seen the David/Goliath thing done too many times already.
