Haha, will get murderous if people start blaming this on Ponting. He batted superbly and made a lot of good decisions throughout the match. Take solace in knowing that Australia were easily the better side, and we are the strong favourites for the rest of the series. It's easy to say what should've happened, but we were only one wicket away from winning a match we dominated.

Feeling a lot better for the rest of the series after this match.

To be honest, the weather part of Cricket bothers me. Even when we benefit from it. When the outcome of a match is greatly influenced by missing chunks of the game, then it's just silly.

Especially in England. 6 day Tests should be mandatory .

I said last night after watching Australia dominate that even if England saved the game the momentum would still be with Ponting & Co going into the 2nd Test and I still believe that despite us hanging on by the skin of our teeth just now, but... what is cracking a smile on my face is all the hardcore Aussie who, having stayed up willing that last wicket to fall, will go to work tomorrow morning disappointed and dog tired.

Nothing can justify taking Hilfenhaus off after he removed Swann and had the ball on a string. Captained well for pretty much all of the match, but bizzare decisions at the end cost us.

Bull**** mate. Utter bull****.

He tried every single bowler at his disposal - full time, part time. They lost over a session's worth of play on a flat deck and went within a whisker of winning anyway. He made a fine declaration yesterday, perfectly timed. His bowlers did their best, especially the limited sspinner he had at his disposal, and bear in mind Johnson bowled tripe for the most part, and he's been the go to guy for the most part.

So I wouldn't be blaming him at all. He gave it his best shot and they didn't quite get there. Are you saying if he bowled Hilf or Johnson for the second to last over they'd have won? How can you say that at all? He was trying to get extra overs in.
