Weather forecasts don't look pretty for tomorrow.

BBC and the Met Office both forecast rain for Weds, Thurs, Fri and Sat. Google weather for Weds and Thurs.

Weather-forecast.com and Yahoo more optimistic.

Anyhow the Met Office are the daddies of the vibe and here is what they predict for tomorrow:

0700
14°C
1000
15°C
1300
18°C
1600
16°C
1900
16°C

If that holds, we may struggle to get much play in before lunch.

The BBC is totally contrary, as per usual. Their picture says 'heavy rain shower' at 10am, and yet their radar slideshow just below has no rain anywhere near Cardiff in the morning.

Cardiff average rainfall for July: 60.5mm
London average rainfall for July: 38.3mm

If rain ruins tomorrow's cricket, I'm blaming Wales.

Edit: ... and the Welsh, and the ECB

Really hateful thing is that it's hardly a secret it rains in south Wales, is it? One can only assume that the wheelbarrow containing the money Glamorgan paid the ECB for the test was of elaphantine proportions.

Although the cynically minded might point out that the head of the ECB when Cardiff got the gig is a Leekist himself.

Quite - Old Trafford is where this should be being played

Well if they're going to play Welshmen, without whom they would not have won an Ashes series in 22 years, they should probably give the country a game or two back.

It should be. Maybe then when Eoin Morgan is England's captain they'll play an Ashes test in sunny Belfast.

Reckon they should go round the country and play all 5 Tests at different club grounds TBH, would make it much more interesting.

Peter Roebuck waffles on about how the England team is full of 'Asians and Africans', and how the Ashes is in Cardiff to appease the Welsh Assembly.

When will he stop singling out players like Bopara and Panesar as if they're not properly English? Winds me up something chronic.
