If he came out and said he's looking to trade Rip then he'd lose a lot of leverage with teams who know he needs to get rid of him. After seeing how well Rip handled AI and Stuckey eating into his minutes last year I doubt they'll last more than a few months together. They are still in dire need of a centre, only a matter of time imo before they pull the trigger on something.

Yeah that's a good point about leverage.
Still getting a bad feeling about Tyrus. Hate to sound like a broken record but I feel him and Rose are the future of the team. I'd hate to see him go.

Ariza's younger and cheaper. With Yao now looking a sicknote and T-Mac a shadow of himself they probably need to rebuild because they can't win now.
Save some money, get a guy who could be a building block for your team and trade Tracy's massive expiring for some young talent and a couple of picks from one of the many teams who are losing money. Last season they thought Ron Ron was a guy who could put them over the top but they have 40m committed to two guys who aren't going to suit up for them so they'd have to rethink their strategy.

FTR I was talking from the Lakers POV. It obviously makes sense for the Rockets.
Where do you think they could possibly shop Tracy to? I suppose it's similar to AI's situation last year, it could possibly work and put a team over the edge, but if it doesn't he goes next season at you get massive room for the 2010 sweepstakes. Still, how many/which teams would risk it?

Well he's flat out a better player, arguably the best guard/swingman defender in the league. Also the only guy in the West who can somewhat contain Kobe. They just upgraded on talent, but Phil now has to do some coaching to keep Ron's head and ego in check.

The AI is so smart in this game. I've been missing my FTs with my player for something like 5-6 games straight and all of a sudden I can't get in the paint without someone knocking me on my ass. I get sent to the charity stripe at least 8-10 times a game. I love this game so much!
Have finally traded Nene for a couple second stringers as he was ruining the team chemistry. I was planning to keep him around till the end of the season but had to let him go after his agent started calling me the 'worst GM in the history of the league'.

I hate the sim engine in the assoc. mode. Rotation is absolutely pathetic. I've lost count of the amount of times I've had my star C or PF sulk on me because the engine gives some ****ty bench player 90% of his minutes.
Yeah, sure, Caron Tucker is rated 99 with A+ on his inside scoring, post defence and rebounding and he's still only 25 and is on year one of a six-year contract, but I'd rather play some 75 rated guy at SF for 25 minutes each game, push my 6"6' SF to PF, and my PF to C. Which means Tucker gets 15 minutes each game and whines, even though I've set the rotation to have him at 41. I even tried setting all my starters to 48, and he still only got 15 minutes a game. ****.

I see things have moved on since 1997.
That's interesting. Can't say I've ever come across the same problem when simming a game. The rotation might be a few minutes off as expected but it follows my settings pretty closely. In game, I always do my own substitutions as I just don't feel comfortable letting the AI do it. Might be a reaction to not having a balanced bench, I don't know.

I've found it happening when the starter SF has a good inside game, or can play PF. They spend more time at PF than SF, and the PF spends more time at C, thus screwing the C over. For example, Oden threw a major fit the season I signed Gay in one of my earlier games.
It's downright ********. You're punished for having an good all-round players. Wow.

Heh yeah I can see how that would be absolutely frustrating if you sim a lot (I sim like 3 games a season). Have you tried editing the players and maybe changing their secondary position to be identical to their primary? Might cause the sim to sub a PF for a PF and a C for a C. Just a thought. What does your bench look like position wise, out of curiosity.

lol @ Rubio probably staying in Spain. Not bad for Minnesota really, he'll get older, stronger and become more valuable and experienced, whilst they get to see if Flynn can cut it. If he can, then they'll get big value for Rubio on the trade table anyway.
