Talk is that Dighton is just entering it to get more money out of Tasmania.

Crosthwaite has been up to NSW to look at houses, and supposedly spoken to some clubs about arrangements with work and that, because NSW won't be offering him a contract. Would say that he's less than 50% of going by now though.

Kent put his name in because he was courted a little by South Australia, but in the end most of that was from Port Adelaide CC rather than from SACA themselves. Talk is that former Vic U/19 captain Joel Davies will be heading over there to play with PA. Ludeman also looking to head over and compete against Tim Davey for the number two keeper position.

Divin sniffing out Victoria, supposedly. And Graeme Rummans back in Victoria as captain of St Kilda.

I would love NSW to get Crosthwaite, seeing as Haddin isn't going to be coming back to play for us regularly any time soon.

By the way, how is Smith's/Neville's (I think they are NSW's keepers) actual keeping skills. Doesn't Smith slog a bit, and bowl some decent tweakers as well?

Crosthwaite a better batsmen and keeper. Neville's batting is pretty average for a current keeper-batsmen, on par with Brett Lee.

Nevill and Crosthwaite pretty even in terms of keeping, Crosthwaite with the edge in batting. Nevill is a good grade batsman, never made a run in 2nd XI cricket though.

Crosthwaite is better then both. Smith has made some blunders with he gloves but he's got a cool head sometimes with the bat in hand whilst being able to tonk a few. Not to mention he ate all the pies...

The T20 really is a way for a small number of players to make big $. They can play for four teams (IPL, county, home country and SA/Aus) and with that number of starting teams, they're almost bound to get into the champions league too.

Such an awesome signing!
Be interesting to see where he slots in; whether it's in place of a bowler or batsman. Actually, having gone through the line-up, reckon something like this would be best:

Hodge
Quiney
Hussey
Bravo
White
McDonald
Crosthwaite
McKay
Harwood
McGain
Nannes

Lot of bowling depth, maybe you could argue that there isn't enough in the batting, although McKay can hit pretty well in Twenty20. Maybe a Hastings might slot in for a McKay, or maybe just a Finch/Wade?

You'd think theres enough bowling options with Nannes, McGain, Harwood, Bravo, White, McDonald and Hussey to not need any more bowlers.

Is there any use in dropping one of the better performed bowlers for a batsman who'll end up batting at 8 though?

Like the article says; Victoria are pending on McDonald being unavailable due to Test duties. Bravo may end up being a straight swap for McDonald.

Batting depth remains a worry, little guarantee that Harwood, Nannes and McKay will all be injury free when the T20 comes around; opening a spot for possibly Wright or Hastings to play as the bowling all-rounder.
