He was only just clocking up 140kph earlier this season, so I would hardly call him a poor man's Shuan Tait. The thing with Davis is that he isn't as quick as he used to be.

It's good to see Tim Southee getting some good match practice, I was a little surprised Boult didn't get selected though. Te Ahu Davis is also very lucky, from some of the games I went and seen last season he didn't look all that impressive.
Hopefully Williamson does well over there, I'm sort of hoping he goes to Sri Lanka.

Yeah your probaly right. I would like to see him play one more full season for ND before he plays for NZ, but I can't see it happening. I think that before he plays for the Black Caps he has to bat at three for ND, as that is where I can see him playing for New Zealand.
But we know how NZ selectors work, they will feed him to the wolves to early. And then get rid of him.
I reckon the selectors will get it right this time and give him another season. I mean he's only played a handful of FC games. If he has another good season averaging 45+ then I have no problem with him being selected, though preferably at home. Plus, who is he really going to replace? Taylor? No. Ryder? No. Flynn deserves more chances at number 3 (to be honest, he hasn't done a lot wrong). The only spot he could possibly take is the number 6, but if Oram's fit he should probably be our first choice number 6, you can't drop someone from the test side on the back of their T20 performances. Though the selectors seem certain that Franklin is a batsman, when he clearly is not so he's fighting for that number 6 spot anyway.
The pleasing thing I found at the T20 WC was he was bowling relatively quickly again (135km/h) and was probably bowling his bouncer a tad quicker. Far far better than when he was picked against the West Indies early last season and he was bowling high 120's..he was obviously picked too early coming back from his injury to be at full bowling fitness. I have high hopes for his bowling next season, and once the selectors/coach realise his bowling is where his strength lies, I have no doubt he'll be back at number 8 where he belongs.
