In the 2007 Ashes, in the penultimate or final test, Ponting took a quick single to mid-on, the England fielder threw down the stumps, and Bill Lawry said "Oh that's poor field placing and good running from Ricky Ponting". England appealed, and Lawry said, surprised; "Oh, well, they're appealing but he's home." Replays were called for, and Lawry was willing Ponting in' "come on Ricky, come on Ricky", but he was run out by a yard or so. He couldn't believe it. That was the worst mistake I've seen from a commentator, right up there with the guy who thought Bopara had hit the last ball of the World Cup match v. Sri Lanka for four when it had bowled him.

Surely Ranjit Fernando in the last over of the 2007 World Cup between England and Sri Lanka. Easily the worst commentary ever.

Yeah It was some terrible commentary.It is funny how long it took him to realize Ravi was bowled especially with the whole Sri Lanka cricket team celebrating and all!!!.

In one Pak/SL match on TEN Sports, Rameez Raja accidentally twisted around a few syllables when he said "Big shots are getting hit", and you know what it sounds like. Terrible.
The definition of a shocker- Harsha Bhogle, no less, spoke of the Zimbabwe/Bangladesh series in a very derisive manner in December 2004. He compared it with a Mohun Bagan/East Bengal football match, and said that though there's 'dreadful football' on show, there's tough competition and a lot of fun. All of this in front of a Bangladeshi co-commentator and a Bangladeshi TV audience. Athar Ali Khan was shocked.

The worst moment anyone ever had in a commentary box was during a rain break in the England v New Zealand series in 1978 when Ted Dexter was struck by lightning.

Charles Colville makes any number of utterly nonsensical comments. I don't mind him as a commentator and presenter but whenever he tries to actually venture assessments of players he just comes-up hopelessly short.
