Oh i agree, there is no other option...

Barrett's rep career should be long over...

On the NSW side it will be interesting to see what they come up with, after so many of the origin 1 players missing their respective games this weekend...

Bailey, Jennings, Lyon, Lewis, and Gidley all missed their games. I know Gids was rested as a precaution but still there must be some question mark..

With McMannus, and Campese coming under a scrutiny it will be interesting to see what they come up with, I just hope they dont go back to the old guys who have failed in the past 3 seasons...

As much as I look up to Campese, he just hasn't found his form, and really shouldn't be selected.

In regards to McManus out, Monaghan would have to be selected wouldn't he? He should have played in the first place...

Thought Campese played alright today, probably not good enough to keep his spot in Origin though. This is the side that I think will be named:
1 Kurt Gidley
2 Jarryd Hayne
3 Michael Jennings
4 Jamie Lyon
5 Josh Morris
6 Trent Barrett
7 Peter Wallace
8 Brent Kite
9 Robbie Farah
10 Michael Weyman
11 Paul Gallen
12 Ben Creagh
13 Luke O'Donnell
Reserves
14 Craig Wing
15 Justin Poore
16 Thom Learoyd Lahrs
17 Glenn Stewart

Matt Cooper bracketed if either of the centres arent fit, Laffranchi same deal with the back rowers.

Geez you think that highly of Weyman Si?? Starting and coming off the bench :p

TBH i think your pretty close except i cant see them picking Barrett, I think it will be either Mullen or Campese.. I hope they pick TLL, he could provide some X Factor

Haha yeh, meant to have Poore on the bench, tbh I think the 5/8 battle is between Barrett and Mullen and Sharks winning today might have just gotten Barrett over the line.

Just heard that apparently Wing could be in doubt... anyone else aware of this and if so who could be another option??? Can't really think of any other decent utilities...

Michael Ennis to the bench imo, given the role that Wing played in game 1 and would be likely to play in game 2 then Ennis could easily do it.
edit: or Hornby I guess.

Yeah i guess Ennis, although leaves them in a spot of bother if they lose a member of the backline, whereas wing is comfortable in the centres if need be...

I hope not hornby, as much as the guy has been in decent form, he is not up to origin level imo

Yeah, Blewy pulled his Hammy, or did something to it anyways.

Wouldn't have Campese on the Bench. Personally would put Ennis on there.

Would like them to stick with Campese personally. Would have TLL inthere somewhere.

Alan Tongue ftw re the bench spot if Wing out.

Even LDaley wouldnt be stupid enough to select TBarrett surely.

He's always struck me as a guy who is in cruise control, Barrett.

I just don't think he's super hungry.

Sticking with Campese could have it's merits if he plays good, but if he doesn't he'll be replaced when 2-0 down instead of 1-0 down.

TLL is def be in the squad, especially after today.

As much I would love to see Tongue get selected, I highly doubt it will happen. He plays along the same line as G. Stewart. A ball running back-rower who makes a **** load of tackles.

And on the topic of Trent Barrett: Personally, I don't see where all the hate from him comes from, but he is a good player and has courage and guts which is crucial in origin. I know he's had shockers in rep games before, but if NSW want to win, they have to chance their arm.

Regardless of how average Barrett has been at SOO level, the guys that replaced him in the last 3-4 years have all been worse. If you were picking guys on previous performances at SOO then Barrett and Kimmorley would be the halves. The rest of the guys that have played in the halves in the last 3 years have all been worse then those two.

There better off picking Mullen and Wallace, so it won't be six series losses in a row. But if all about stopping four, then you might as well pick the guys that have atleast a few good SOO matches. Then guys who struggled to have more then one so far.

I do find it strange there a massive push for Barrett cus they don't think the halves are good enough. But yet nothing for Kimmorley the form halve in NSW. Says something about the baised nature of selections.

AS a Queensland fan, Barrett is a player I fear. Whenever he played NSW always seemed to win, one of our bogey players if you like. Maybe that was because Johns was also in the side and the Queensland selectors were mugs for about 3 seasons, but still, there is some danger there.
