I guess Scaly was right.
One thing Scaly has always been right about is the lack of depth in NZ cricket. Lose a couple of good players like Ryder & Taylor and we're cannon-fodder against the top sides and today was no exception, they genuinely looked below International standard.

What I've always argued with Scaly about (when he takes his pot-shots) is that England aren't actually any better when it comes to the shortened forms of the game. Lets not forget NZ have a positive win/loss record against England in all ODI's played between the two sides, this including the last 3 times we've played them in World-Cups. (If only big games count).

All that said, my comments about the SL/NZ game were more to do with the fact that IMO SL have the best T20 bowling attack in the world, marginally over SA and most teams will struggle against them, let alone a depleted NZ side without its two of their three most talented batsmen.

Vettori does for Malik with his flight; ballsy to toss it up in this situation.

71/4. But the captain comes to the crease.

Makes you wonder why was ****ing diremanti picked.
Simple really, the cupboards bare - with the possible exception of Bond. Its either him of some other below par international player like Cumming or Thompson. I suppose Elliot could have been another option, but he strikes me as more suited to 50 over cricket than T20s. Either way, it's not like we have class players lining up.

Don't worry Kiwis, we'll upset one of the other sides and victory against Sri Lanka will send you through .

Tim Southee?

His batting would be about as good as Diamanti's. Someone quick?

I'm just angry because Wayne Parnell was in Southee's Under 19 world cup playing for SA and look how much better he has become. Well Southee sit's at home doing nothing and getting worse.

He was a bit of a hack really. I'm not saying he didn't do his job and bat well, but he didn't bat beautifully IMO.
