Last I heard was that Broncos are refusing to play tomorrow night...?

Am I just hearing ****, or has that been confirmed?

If that's the case, ****ing whiny pricks.

Not happy that Joseph Tomane has signed with the Titans btw.
Not sure why you're upset about it, but I'm gutted. Posted the below earlier in the week.

Also just read in the paper that Tomane is not signed for next year. Might be a huge mistake for the storm as his price would surely have risen significantly last night. Might have even priced himself out of the club, with the vultures sure to be already circling.
Think he looks like a real star in the making and our inabilty to keep our most promising young players is begining to grate.

Bronco's CEO has told the NRL they won't play, for the safety of the players. Not sure if it will count as a default or not though. Sounds like it will.

Might give the away sides a run this week.

Apparently a majority of the Melbourne SG Ball side (or equivalent) are Melbourne/Victorian bred, and until a lot of those players start coming through the ranks there are going to be a lot of players who return home to be closer to family, particularly the younger players.

It will take a while, but in the long run it will be good for the Storm.

Good get for the Titans btw, they'll have a very good back line next season.

Given they've spent the last 3 days in quarantine, the Broncos really haven't had the proper preparation. Given the physicality of the NRL there is risk of injury, and of course the team being under prepared.

They have since said the game will go ahead, however it is unsure what the lineup will be given Hunt has been confirmed with the Swine Flu and Winterstein was rushed to Hospital during the week with flu symptoms.

Oh waaa waaaa, Teams have had to deal with sickness and Illness to squads in the past which have effected their preparations, why should the Bronco's get any special dispensation?? Oh thats right i forgot the whole competition revolves around those north of the border...

Haha. I can't think of a time when the whole side was put into quarantine for 3 days and unable to train for that amount of time.

Congratulations on spectacularly missing the point.

I don't see that the Broncos are being particularly unreasonable about the whole thing.

Pretty much just got bored this week and decided to tip who I thought had the better team on paper and ignore all the little annoying things that make tipping a lottery like recent form, season performances, player fatigue and all that other rubbish.

Will be interesting to see how it goes; can't do any worse.

In saying that you believe Bulldogs are better than Broncos and Roosters are better than Titans?

Titans are fairly average away from home, and the Roosters are probably due. Still tipped the Titans though.

The Broncos/Bulldogs is 50/50, so that game is undecided.

Well, I certainly think the Roosters should be better than the Titans. It definitely hasn't panned out that way so far this year - the Roosters are categorically worse, for whatever reason, and will most likely lose, but I haven't taken that into consideration with my tips this weeks because I'm bored and angry. Probably won't work, but meh.

I don't really rate Brisbane's team particularly highly on paper either - especially this week. Their go-forward looks decidedly poor on paper IMO, particularly with no Clinton. They generally find a way to win anyway but that's not really the point. I thought Canterbury had the better looking squad at the start of the year and I think their seventeen looks better on paper this week.. which is, again, how I decided to go about it this week.

Basically, I decided to have a little bit of fun with it. It's mainly because I'll wear it a lot more if a team I rate in general loses when I tip them than if a team I don't think should be much good in theory but tip anyway due to sheer weight of results loses.

Actually agree with PEWS to a certain extent.

You and me support the same team in the NRL. Don't ask why I follow Melbourne, I'm not sure myself, I just do. That said I do cheer on the Titans in their games (not Melbourne).
