Any relation to David Bairstow? if so, I'm astonished his mum allowed him to pursue a career in cricket after what happened to DB.Jonathan Bairstow comes in for his FC debut for Yorkshire (see discussion in the young talent to watch thread).
His father...Any relation to David Bairstow? if so, I'm astonished his mum allowed him to pursue a career in cricket after what happened to DB.
Elsewhere, Surrey have done itheir usual failure-to-bowl-out-the-tail routine, with Panesar of all people featuring in a decent 9th wicket stand.
Dernbach is crap, like a worse version of Saj if that's possible.Dernbach in the wickets again though, 16 at 24 so far ... could this be his 'breakthrough' season?
And is Harris injured already? Looks like he couldn't finish an over.
He has lacked control in the past (making it odd that he's played so much one-day cricket) but it's easy to forget how young he was when he started out. Clearly the club see potential in him, but he's not yet the finished article by any means.Dernbach is crap, like a worse version of Saj if that's possible.
Didn't know Luke Fletcher could bat. If so makes him even more of a prospect.
Gawd do England need some
Got that awesome List A strike rate though, can't be ignored as a sign of potential. Around the 30 mark and he is just an average county quick but he truly has an exceptional strike rate, which must be noted is coupled with an exceptionally bad economy rate. From what I've seen of him, he looks a pretty good bowler, pitches it up and swings it, but seems to really bowl too many half volleys in his attempts to pitch it up, his short balls tend to skid on to the bat too.Dernbach is crap, like a worse version of Saj if that's possible.
Unless he's improved exponentially in the last year, he can't.Didn't know Luke Fletcher could bat. If so makes him even more of a prospect.
