The Sharks have digging their own grave for a while. Really I think its a case of no one really investigating it so nothing has ever come out, now we are seeing a case of people looking for dirt and they are finding it.
But the thing is it did come out. I read that story in the press back when it happened, even the details such as the spanking offer were in the public domain back then.

I'm just waiting for the "Breaking Story" regarding the glassing of a woman by a then Sharks player last year. 8-)

Really? First I heard about it, hugely surprised Zappia wasnt called on it if the "Spanking Offer" was known about before Sunday night.

Anyone else think Clinton has been treated a bit harsh with a $50k fine? I know, team rules etc etc but that's a huge fine for just having a bit of old fashioned fun with someone.

Also, this might be a bit OTT but is anyone else starting to think there's a concerted effort from somewhere to get rid of the Sharks? You couldn't have scripted their on-field woes, but the re-release of damaging off-field stories is happening with incredible regularity. All of these incidents occurred months or years in the past, why are they being rehashed again now? It's no secret that the NRL (half owned by News) wants fewer Sydney clubs.

Maybe a bit too tinfoil-hat?
I think your absolutely spot on mate

The sooner the Sharks move to the Central Coast/Perth/Wellington/anywhere the better imo.

Of course you do.
You don't think the Raiders could be belted around this way if the media wanted to? How about them continuing to employ Todd Carney after he had his second drink driving incident (let alone sacking his accomplice)? Or maybe that they're currently employing Dane Tilse, a guy who by all accounts is lucky not to have a serious ***ual assault charge up against his name? Who knows what other deeds lay in the past of Raiders employees, just waiting to be dredged up by an enthusiastic team of journalists.

Not picking on the Raiders here (I personally have no problem with their actions as a club), and clearly there has been some problems with the Sharks management of these issues, but I doubt there's many clubs that don't have these skeletons in their closet. Just seems strange that the Sharks are being vilified as a one of a kind mess when off field issues have plagued pretty much every club at some point.

What's clear is that if there is an agenda to get rid of an Sydney club, they're not interested in the Bulldogs (sorry Burgey). Reckon that club would have enough bones in the wardrobe to send a graveyard green with envy.

They've also got Poore, according to the SMH.

You bloody beauty!!!!!
Not sure if I saw the same page, but while the title of the link mentions Poore, the article itself only mentions Shackleton.

Great business for the Eels if true.

I think that he should get atleast a 70% discount for not inviting his team mates for a relay and circle jerk. Actually shows some progress in Rugby League players and their attitudes toward women. Should be aplauded.

No real movers in the ladder this week, as more than half of us tipped 4/7, with Morgieb the only one to climb up to 5. Blewy has continued what has been a shocking 3 weeks (was leading, or 1 point off at the end of round 10 iirc) for him by again being the lowest tipster of the week with McPinch getting just 2 correct.

Farrar has been signed to play fullback, within 3 weeks he'll be wearing the #1 and Robbo will be back on the wing.
Seems an odd move by Manly when Stewart could return soon and they are paying a fair bit on Tony Williams and Hopoate too. Farrar isn't anything special and Robertson looks like he's finally got his game going in the past few weeks.
I know he signed to play fullback. But it does seem strange now that Robbo found his feet now at fullback and Williams is starting to look half decent now. Also Hopoate looks closer and closer to first grade potential each week. Though Farrar is 10 times better then Bani, so it a good deal from that end. Not sure why NQ wanted him and were happy to lose Farrar. I think they are close to going overboard on local players. Should have tired to get David's brother and gave then Neumann at the same time.
