Yeah agree. I thought Parker or Stagg might get that gig.Like the team. Feel that Matt Scott as 18th man is a bit of an odd selection though!
Yeah Stacey Jones, Perrett & Gidley scored me -7, -3 & -5 respectively. Made quite a dent in the week's tally.Couple of poor rounds from you Dale in the sportal comp. I'm in front of you now. We both dropped out of the top 10 last week but I'm back up to 9th. Origin period will be interesting as I have Lyon, Smith and a few others in my side.
The thing is if your a good enough attacking option you should be able to make an impact on the wing, especially at SOO level. In attack I actually think Jennings is by far our best option. Balance wise we need one solid defensive in the centres to combat Hodges/Inglis. So that where Lyon/Cooper come in. Even if they aren't as good in attack, though Lyon been in good form in attack.Yeah, but Boyd and Folau are but two weapons in our vast attacking armoury. By contrast, Hayne is in my view one of the most potent NSW players - they need high involvement from him. Would rather him at fullback, Gidley to 5/8th (really, would he do any worse than someone like Campese in that position?) and Monaghan on the wing. From a NSW standpoint, I'd rather Gidley and Hayne get their hands on the ball as much as possible than Campese.
Anyway, in my Origin viewing experience, the trophy tends to follow the team with the better halves. Stuart/Daley in the 1990's etc. In that regard, Thurston/Lockyer vs Wallace/Campese...she's a no contest.
I had Thurston as captain which worked well, my captaincy choices in the last 4 or 5 weeks have paid off actually.Yeah Stacey Jones, Perrett & Gidley scored me -7, -3 & -5 respectively. Made quite a dent in the week's tally.
Why not? I don't think the guy should miss any footy over calling a another bloke a name, in the heat of battle. What's the story with Gallen? I've heard he's lodging an appeal vs the fine.
Surely if he loses, he can't play Origin, although I understand he's got a crook shoulder anyway.
Really feel strongly about this. Can feel a ranting letter to the NSWRL coming up.
Yeh if hes guilty then he shouldnt be playing, cops the suspension, is sacked as Sharks captain and then faces the judiciary. If hes not guilty then he cops no fine and nothing happens. What's the story with Gallen? I've heard he's lodging an appeal vs the fine.

Ridiculous post. Why not? I don't think the guy should miss any footy over calling a another bloke a name, in the heat of battle.
Big difference between calling someone "a name" and a racial slur. It's filthy behavior, and I hope the NRL sends a strong message against it by suspending him tbh.Why not? I don't think the guy should miss any footy over calling a another bloke a name, in the heat of battle.
Haha so true. Loved Pritchard's take on it. Can't find the link but he said words to the effect of "If it was me I would have chased him over the park." The image of Pritchard chasing a fleeing Gallen is hilariousBest thing would've been Paea knocking the **** out on the field.
Pritchard is far too soft to do that. If it was Karmichael Hunt he might have though.Haha so true. Loved Pritchard's take on it. Can't find the link but he said words to the effect of "If it was me I would have chased him over the park." The image of Pritchard chasing a fleeing Gallen is hilarious
Nah you just get him on his day. You know, THAT one day he produces every yearPritchard is far too soft to do that. If it was Karmichael Hunt he might have though.
Wouldnt be the 1st time Pritchard has done something like that...Haha so true. Loved Pritchard's take on it. Can't find the link but he said words to the effect of "If it was me I would have chased him over the park." The image of Pritchard chasing a fleeing Gallen is hilarious
To call that racism is to trivialise real acts of racism, such as people being discriminated against in a job interview etc.Ridiculous post.
Calling someone a dickhead or a mother ****er or something like that is one thing, racisim is a completely different story. No place for it in sport.
To call someone a Black so and so anytime is racist. To do it in the heat of the battle is just as bad as it was obviously the first thing to come to Gallen's mind if it is indeed what he said. You don't call someone that in that situation without having some sort of meaning to it.To call that racism is to trivialise real acts of racism, such as people being discriminated against in a job interview etc.
I just don't think, in the heat of battle, one word is necessarily worth all this hand ringing and moralising.
A fine is enough. Anything more is silly.
Was more referring to the "hit" he put on Hunt in Karmichael's test debut. Said in the media he was going out to hurt him and did exactly that. Have always hated him because of that, such a low act.Nah you just get him on his day. You know, THAT one day he produces every year
Nah bit harsh imo. He's had a few good games this year. His try against the Sharks was great stuff.
Ahh yeah had forgotten about that. Gotta say have in the past lost alot of respect for him in the past due to his comments in the media. Always going on about how he wants more pay, might go to union and so on. Invariably comes along during a personal/team form slump too.Was more referring to the "hit" he put on Hunt in Karmichael's test debut.
