hahaha - couldnt agree more!Overkill. Harbhajan slapped the wrong guy.
The millions of people in those countries who like cricket would disagree.start the IPL all over again!
imho, in terms of something that's watchable, I would rate it higher than any series [whatever format] played amongst Eng, NZ, SL and WI

Much like I am now. I'd much rather watch NZ and England trying to out fail each other in a test match (pick any three on the England tour) than the IPL. In fact I'd argue that the two trying to out fail each other is far more entertaining. Plus the IPL hasn't knocked out anyones teeth yet, all its had is a tool bitchslap a little girl, the England series let us watch that one season wonder and ND batsman Daniel Flynn gets his teeth smashed out in slow motion by ironically at that time, one of the most innacurate bowlers in the world (James Anderson). I'll repeat that it was in glorious slow motion.
Then he came out and had another go at batting after his trip to the murderhouse (dentist). I presume Sreesanth needed counselling, rehab and tissues, but Flynn was straight back into the failing series.
Win.
Unfortunately for the people in those countries, those millions of people don't have the same consumer power as the billion in India.Flem274* said:The millions of people in those countries who like cricket would disagree.
that's understood that ppl of those countries would prefer to watch games involving their teams .... I am not debating thatThe millions of people in those countries who like cricket would disagree.
Not a bad analogy. Two tourneys may =I have been watching the IPL casually (watched maybe 1 game in 10) but my interest this year has been a lot less than last year. There is novelty value at the moment but it is fading.
T20 at the moment is like a new TV show. It has that new show boost in audience numbers. We will see how popular it really is in 5 years or so. I suspect it will remain popular with Indian viewers but international interest will fade.
Following England vs WI more than the IPL personally. Its all personal taste of course, but I'd even go for Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe before the IPL. For me the game has to actualy mean something. I'm the same in rugby, I couldn't care less about the Super "steal the smaller provinces players for next years Air NZ Cup and bore everyone to death with our tacky franchises" 14 or 23 or whatever they want to expand it into.that's understood that ppl of those countries would prefer to watch games involving their teams .... I am saying that in terms of something that's watchable, I would rate IPL higher than games involving some of those countries [whatever the format] .... for neutral fans, IPL would [i could be wrong] be more interesting than games amongst those countries .... For e.g. many in SA or SL would be more interested in IPL than a NZ vs WI series and so on. If you talk abt average cricket fans, they will struggle to name 11s of some of the countries but will keenly follow IPL
I agree that at the end of the day, it is abt personal taste .... but i assume that those following BD vs Zim more than IPL would be in a minorityFollowing England vs WI more than the IPL personally.
