***Official*** West Indies in England

Would have to disagree with you hugely there. Just look at his stance, he sets himself up to look to play everything though the covers and point, he'll always struggle against decent swing bowling, especially inswing. He also commits to the front foot very early, will find bouncier tracks much more difficult. Defensive technique is very shaky too, especially off the back foot. With such a closed stance left armers and right arm round the wicket will always cause him problems.
Have to agree about his back-foot defense, but he don't look to play every ball thought cover/point. He executes pull&flick strokes pretty well, and he hasn't scored runs by hitting every ball though cover. Australia are less likely to cause trouble for him than SA, because he's batting well in England and his county stats are also impressive.

When were they split? I don't remember Sky showing home Tests at all before 06, just ODIs, but I am probably wrong
When Test matches were first taken off the list they showed the second match of the first series. E.g they showed the second test against Bangladesh in 2005. I think it was that way from when Channel 4 took over the main coverage from BBC

If you take out Prior's stats against West Indies (bowlers averaging over 40) then his average goes from 47 to 29.
It's hardly his fault that more than half of his Tests have been against them. I can only remember him having one bad series with the bat.

Thanks dav, don't remember at all. I missed that bangas test in 05 (I went for a piss, came back and it had finished) so it makes sense that I forget that, but I watched the lot the couple of years before, don't remember any being on Sky, weird

Remember when Corey Collymore gave the England batsman 'you can't see me' hand gesture when he last toured. No problem with that but his side was getting ass raped and he was useless.

Fidel should STFU.

KP started like a train.
Ignorance at its best. 8-) That's his wicket celebration. Based off some wrestler. Edwards used to do it as well. It wasn't only against England.

I know where it comes from. Just looks ****ing stupid when the oppo have 500 on the board. But the England boys thought it was funny. 8-)

And I didn't say it was just against England, did I? Prick.

Am off to the ODer at headingly on thursday...lets hope it doesn't rain!

Would be very surprised if we managed to take 20 wickets on this pitch with the time lost already. Reckon Sarwan and Chanders will ton up. Not sure this is Gayle kind of pitch. Just have to wait for Smith to get to about 30 or so then bring Swann on.

And he shouldn't celebrate his wickets then just because his team are doing poorly?

Didn't need Swann this time.:)

Bit of inswing on that one, cracking delivery. Much prefer seeing Jim bowling the inswinger to the left hander, as opposed to just constantly swinging it away from them. Never looks dangerous when constantly bowling the outswinger to the left-hander! Good start for England this.

You would? Its all in the context of the game and wickets when the team are geting thumped are meaingless.

Its like when an NFL player does a dance when he sacks the QB and his team is losing by 40 points. Dude, you are losing why the **** are you dancing?

Its because he can do both that he's improved as a bowler. The question is whether he bowls the inswinger/outswinger as his stock/surprise delivery

No. Would it look right if Nani did a triple somersault if Man U were losing 7 nil?
No because he usually only does one somersault so if he does a triple with that happening then...... Is/wasn't an exuberant celebration. If he'd done cartwheels or something similar then it'd be a prob.

If it's not exuberant I see no problem.

Devon Smith in missing straight ball shocker (ok it moved the tiniest amount but he missed it by quite some distance). He is geting out in identical fashion too often, it's simply not good enough.

Any argument for holding back Adrian Barath has been made utterly redundant. He must debut against Bangladesh in July, Devon has to go.
