Shame Sri Lanka haven’t selected Vaas for the WC. He, Malinga, Mendis, Murali, that’s a bloody good bowling attack there.

Kolkata going to take the brave decision and drop their captain? 9 gameS, 91 runs @ 10.11 (S/R 86.66). That is shocking.
Don't have the balls to I reckon. At least McCullum is coming good now. Still believe Van Wyk should have been selected ahead of him on form.

Ravi Teja's innings was painful to watch. He better not have stuffed up Hyderabad.

Surely with Symonds there they are safe.

Fake IPL Player has insinuated that Steve Waugh may come into the IPL next year, and Lordie (Ganguly) will have to make way, for obvious reasons.

Who...is...Rajat Bhatia???
Surprising you haven't heard about him having followed so much domestic cricket.

From CI -

Had the roll of selectoral dice gone his way, Rajat Bhatia could have been the allrounder India were looking for when Robin Singh called it a day in 2001. A medium-pace bowler who has for long stuck to one line, and a batsman good enough to tough it out at the crease, Bhatia has turned in many influential performances in domestic cricket. Chchotu is still regarded highly by those who played with and against him, especially in Tamil Nadu, even after he left them to return to Delhi, his original state. By the time he emerged as a finished product as an allrounder, there was no specific need for one, and he missed the boat for India selection. India's loss has been Delhi's gain, and ironically it is Tamil Nadu who suffer at his hands repeatedly, as he rarely fails to make a telling contribution with bat or ball against his old state team.

Delhi wins. AB takes a catch in the outfield to finish the innings.

Bhatia bowled straight for most of his overs, and though he was slow, he was tight. The delivery to get Symonds was special.

Struggle to find a worse and more embarrassing 20/20 collapse IMO.

Dwayne Smith is so useless.

Actually, it was a joke.

In fact, he's one of my personal favourites in the domestic scene. I have, at times, suggested his inclusion as a Test reserve or A-team regular. I'm a bit disappointed with his batting, which just hasn't taken off. For someone who's a batsman first and bowls at less than medium-pace, he's done very well in this edition of the IPL. He'll still need more than a few runs to make a claim for national selection.

Beat me to it..
Was reading Cricinfo commentary and checked out his page, FC average of 46 with the bat and then 25 with the ball.
Never heard of him before..
He was dubbed once as a bowler in the Manoj Prabhakar mould. I've seen him bat a few times, and while he isn't as dominant as the fifty-plus average brigade in India, he's reasonably good, but his batting hasn't come off here. Of course, he's coming in to bat in the slog overs, and he's tried his bit for the team. I wouldn't even call him lucky- he bowled properly in those overs, and getting Symonds out even with that delivery was no joke.

Sehwag: "I was pretty happy with the total, but Gilchrist and Symonds played very well. Sangwan bowled really well, and Bhatia did well at the end, bowling the yorkers and the slower ones. We have a motivation that if we win, we get US$50,000 from our franchises. That's always a nice motivation to have."

The last few games have opened up the tournament nicely. There are now five teams who have played 11 games and have between 10 and 12 points. Should be an interesting scramble for semi-final spots.

Anyway, referring back to a post I made earlier in this thread:

They seem set on not playing Steyn atm, and Kallis instead. I'd like to bring Steyn back into this team. I reckon they can have a crack at the semis with those 4 intls.

If Kumble can keep doing what he's doing, and they get the batting order right early on (maybe open Dravid instead of Kallis?) who knows what Bangalore could do.
Dale is injured (hand), as is van der Merwe. Both players will return once fit. van der Merwe maybe today but Steyn still has a week or so left.

Who comes in for Warner?

Delhi have "too many" good internationals in a way.
Sehwag, of course. Sehwag is wasted in the middle order, he is probably the best batsman in the world to get a team off to a blistering start. Unless you disagree and think Warner is better?

Warner is good in the T20 Format so i wouldn't want to see him dropped down the order either. If anything they can bring Gambhir down the order and open with both Sehwag and Warner.

Why change a wining combination...????

and once warner have come in... the fielding of DD has gone couple of notch higher

and now that they are almost sure of reaching SF mcgrath might get some games
