That is a pretty big claim to make.

Dwayne Bravo was always a lucky boy that CSA never took him to book for accusing (wrongfully) Graeme Smith of being a racist and directing racist abuse at the Windies.

I think we need to hear from Powell himself as to whether he thinks McCullum said that or not....

As for what Bravo and Wavell Hinds said about Smith, I'm not so quick to dismiss it. It's one person's word against the other.

Personally, I would be really surprised and disappointed if Smith said that to Bravo, but I'm not going to say Bravo 'wrongly' accused him, without solid proof....

I was walking home from the supermarket one day when two cretins called me a F***ing P**i. But because I was the only one to hear it, the police told me it was my word against theirs.

Let's just say it's possible that Bravo might've misheard what Smith said, but it's equally possible that he did not....

Cricinfo -
"The hearing, incidentally, was not just a question of Smith pitting his word against Bravo. The umpires were interviewed and match tapes, with stump-microphone recordings, were listened to. There was nothing. If Smith had done it, he would have been caught. (The popular opinion in South Africa, incidentally, is that he may have used the Afrikaans word "kak", which could have sounded like "black"). "

Cricinfo - A sorry saga

This is a summary of what he said in the interview he gave.
Stanford Camp - Best camp he's ever attended. Players were very nervous based on the amount of money involved. Sir Allen impressed upon them that they have to win the tournament.

His performance - Disappointed in his own performance, has been looking at tapes to improve his game. Took 2 months break from cricket and is now back in training and playing. Took 7 wickets in the match on the weekend and made 99.

WIPA - He joined after the SL series. Most players were not interested in WIPA but decided to go with WIPA after Ramnarine was appointed as Director to WICB. Whenever there are issues WIPA provide information and the players decide the course of action.

20/20 payout - They didn't receive their payout immediately. All players were called to a meeting where Stanford staff provided information on investment options. Was lucky to get his money
as he had left it with Stanford Bank until he decided his next move. Went to Abu Dabi and on the flight saw an article in the paper about Stanford being investiagated by FBI. Upon arrival he called and made arrangemets to have his funds transferred to his account. Other players lost money but these were minimal amounts.

Outburst on the field - Player called him the N word more than once, hence his reaction. His behaviour was out of frustration and accepts that it was a poor display by him.

I find it so incredibly hard to believe that Graeme Smith would jeapardise his whole career and his livelihood just to use the N-word during a match. Because that's what he'd lose if a stump mic picked him up, absolutely everything.

51 all out...

Anyway, seriously, think Rose has a point here tbh. The Wisden Trophy's not the Ashes, admittedly, but the boards should at least try to have a proper competition for it. With the 2010 series potentially being replaced with a more lucrative opponent, England could end up holding the Wisden Trophy for four years comparing to WI's one month, after roughly similar achievements.

Half-empty ground for tomorrow. No surprise considering the cheapest ticket is around 30 quid.
Heard Durham whinging about it. In theory Its their fault the tickets are that much because they decided to bid the amount they did to win their test. I guess this time round the uncertaincy over the opponents and/or doubt over the match itslef could not have helped promotion/ticket sales. Obviously the ECB bidding system must take some blame as well.

It's too expensive, given what else is going on this summer, but not way out there for a normal ticket price. I don't think I'd buy one though, until I knew what the weather would be like, and until I knew whether it was going to be a decent match because the vibe you get from the WI at the moment, rightly or wrongly, is that they don't give a ****. If the match looks okay and the weather okay, I reckon they'll get a lot of people walk up and buy tickets for Saturday and Sunday.
