Lol, that post backs up my point tremendously. Amazing.

The BCCI have concoted with the IPL to be against NZ cricket as well.

Maybe it was because Taylor was hitting everything square, why not try something different. If Dhoni had done this it would of been called a brillant peice of captaincy.
Yeah McCullum woud've been working on Taylor's strength/weakness.

Anyway, referring back to a post I made earlier in this thread:
Agreed. As a Bangalore man, I was excited to see Ryder picked up. Think they've lost faith in them too early.

With KP gone, the 4 intls I'd play regularly are:

Boucher
Ryder
Taylor
Steyn
They seem set on not playing Steyn atm, and Kallis instead. I'd like to bring Steyn back into this team. I reckon they can have a crack at the semis with those 4 intls.

If Kumble can keep doing what he's doing, and they get the batting order right early on (maybe open Dravid instead of Kallis?) who knows what Bangalore could do.

They're playing Uthappa in hope that he gains the form he had a couple of years ago, and its convenient he's Indian so they don't have to use up an intl batsman. They'd be brave to drop both Uthappa and Kallis. May weaken the batting too much. Because Uthappa is still better than Jaffer!

That is a very good lineup. Would actually rate them a lot higher if they played that team.

If that's the case, too bad the bowlers didn't lol.

What I was confused about was, Taylor obviously prefers the leg side. So full on middle/leg has to be perfect, otherwise its out of the ground.

So Agarkar and Ishant needed to bowl full outside off. But with that, all it needs is a lofted drive over mid-off and there's 4.

Its hard to bowl and set fields with Ross Taylor like that, but I still think mid-off back would have been the right move.

a) this happened before the beamer
b) Yeah sorry, won't try talking about a NZ cricketer maybe making an error again.
Sorry I forgot, Indians have no sense of humour when it comes to there own cricketers.

Take a joke for christs sake.

Its hard to distinguish between a joke, and sarcastic attack against a poster making an observation when people act like there's an agenda against their own players or country tbh.

Btw, whilst I have an Anglo-Indian background, I'm not Indian. Have never actually been there. :)

So I'm sure some Indians on this board would prefer you not stereotype them with me.

Ye kidding? Munaf Patel's continued inclusion is pretty convincing proof of the inherent humour sense of the Indian selectors.

Which means fine leg has to be up, which is where probably a good 70% of Taylor's boundaries went.

Well...90% of all my posts are either a joke or a pisstake. Put it that way.

Fine leg was already up though wasn't it?

Or did fine leg not get to his French cut? (which at first I thought he chopped on because of the noise, to which I said "Oh ****", and then realised it was 4)

I must admit though, whilst I thought if Ishant is trying to bowl full outside off, mid-off being up was a bit silly, it didn't make much difference. Ross hammered it home in the end.

Ishant's beamer/full toss that went for 6 and a no-ball, and then Agarkar's dickhead attitude, set KKR up for failure.

I thought they pushed fine leg back and brought mid off up. Unless they had mid on, mid wicket, square leg, cover point and third man back?

Meh, either way it was pretty insignificant in the context of the game. It was the KKR's bowlers inability to execute which cost them the game. Agarkar is just rubbish.

To be honest, other than me having money on Bangalore and being a 'supporter' (use the term lightly, but its the region with my biggest family link) of them... KKR losing was better for the tournament. Bangalore losing and already being out (for all intents and purposes) as well as KKR would have made it a bit ****.

Now anyone bar KKR can make the semis. Good result.

McCullum looked genuinely shattered at the end though. Felt for him.

He used to be an opener for India in tests.
Lol, that's a stretch. He opened a couple of times (and didn't do too badly).

Used to bat 3 under Greg Chappell in ODIs though.

Still, even with Mahela injured, wtf is the point of having Yuvraj, Sanga and Pomersbach sit around at 4,5 and 6 if you're batting Irfan at 3?

Sanga should bat 3. He needs time to settle generally before he starts creaming them.

Experimentation for the sake of it I think.
