I think you need to tell these "Caribbean folk" to stop talking out their arses. I'm not sure how people on the other side of the world deduced that the week beginning May 4th is significantly more difficult to play cricket in than the week beginning May 11th but i doubt there's a lot of science behind it.
Quite obviously they've been in England before, some living there for years.8-) Wouldn't be people who live here. But believe me not an excuse by them more them having a go at the WICB.

"Couldn't the WICB have done a little research! Everyone here knows the week beginning May 4th is notoriously much colder than that beginning on the 11th. What incompetent fools. The English are probably sitting back laughing to themselves at having roped us into playing in 'incompetent cricket week', as the locals call it."

Any doubts I had about the moral basis for compulsory euthanasia have now been erased.

 We're in England for the money TBH.

"Both Bell and Sidebottom have been in form in the early part of the season and have been a part of the England set-up in recent years," said Miller

Sidebottom - 7 wickets at 31.42 - in form?

And Bell celebrated his recall with a duck.
The Easten Cape has been rocked by the news to be honest, this is what we needed instead of the IPL.. Can't wait till he comes to South Africa and then I can watch him make a mediocre 23, or maybe an assured 30 or 40...

Yeah I think we should be able to cope no matter how cold it is, I just think the squads attitude to this tour is not up to the mark.

In this regard the WICB is just as guilty as the players as we should not be on this tour and the Wisden Trophy should certainly not be up for grabs.
Totally agree....

The WICB should never have allowed the ECB to persuade them to take this truncated tour instead of the longer 2010 tour....

How many players in the first XI have never played in England (including U19 and A tours) before, Nash and Benn?

Gayle, Sarwan, Chanderpaul have toured multiple times and were huge disappointments, as was Jerome Taylor, who has not only toured England with the Windies before but played county cricket as well.
Let's not forget that playing cricket in England in May is very different from playing in england in June-August....

Not many WI players will have that experience, while English players play county cricket in May every year.

SOme of the veteran WI players may have played a handful of matches in England in May two or three years ago, but the conditions are so different to other parts of the world, that it still takes quite a bit of acclimatising. It's much easier for players who play in these conditions every year, like England players.

That said, the West Indies batting performance was abysmal. Even more abysmal was the WICB decision to accept this ridiculous tour!

Dale Richards is being sent home with a shoulder injury.

I wonder if they will send a replacement? If so then it's Barath time surely?

Apparently Darren Powell's outburst against McCullum was because he'd been called the N word more than once.
