Everytime I look at the City squad I see some of best talent that I remember from playing FM. Pretty sure the City recruitment manager plays that game.

Kompany, Onuoha, Zabaleta, De Jong, Ireland, Bojinov and Caicedo.

You add in guys that were gun already in Richards, Robinho and Wright-Phillips. As well as youth products in Hart, Johnson and Sturridge. They got some stupid talent at the club.

If they brought well in the offie, that would be the side I would be worried about in a couple seasons.

Hey dav, do you find yourself getting annoyed on Manchester derby day the same way I do on Mersey derby? Like, I won't go to the pub and shouldn't go on facebook etc when Liverpool and Everton play each other, because I know they'll all wind me up in equal measure

He's Brentford.

Ahh well I suppose it's part of having a successful team in the lower leagues, your always afraid your players and management are going to get poached.

It's not nice, but it's better then the alternative....
Well I think Stephen Hunt came from Brentford but I must confess I'd have said the human traffic was generally going in the other direction

................... unless you go back to the 80's/90's

fergie very firm that he wasn't going to discuss Tevez's future

Was hoping he'd be disgusted with Ronaldo's behaviour

In just the last few years, Reading players to have played for Brentford are:
Hunt
Ingimarsson
Sodje
Sonko
Tabb
Sidwell.

Plus Coppell and Wally Downes both former Brentford managers. To be fair a lot of those players did not come directly and quite a few have now left so stealing would be the wrong word but there is definetly a big link between the two and as I said we would probably not have been promoted without Bennet and Hamer.

Will always slightly resent them for scoring with about 10 minuites left to stop us being promoted when Coppell was our manager

We'll take that nicely thanks. 4 from 3 needed, hopin a win against Wigan and that ticket for the Arsenal game I might well have does materialise :)

Not really, my Dad's a city fan though but he's far too rational in his old age to get worked up over it. Don't have many city supporting mates but I usually quite enjoy getting in the middle and winding up both sets of fans tbh. Strangely there are probably more Liverpool fans at work than city ones...and my work is about 2 minutes from citeh's ground, the 'local' to my work is a right dive called the kippax, though i think it was called something else before the COM was built.

Fair enough, must just be me  (to dav)

Chelsea one up, against the run of play as far as I can tell

Tell you what, if Cesc hadn't already been booked that was a cast iron caution. Ref swallowed sending off the home captain IMHO.

Ah, bollox to this. 2-0 and we've been all over them. No end product, just like the bad old days.

EDIT: Someone wants to tell Malouda his new hair cut makes him look like a particularly effeminate male ballet dancer.

Same problems we've had for the past 4-5 years being ruthlessly exposed again. Nice to see Drogba getting over the injustice of last week by diving to win the free kick for their first goal.

And sell Diaby at half time. He's a waster of the highest order.
