Pique didn't say the ref got it wrong, he said the ball struck his hand. There's a big difference there, especially given his hand/arm didn't move towards the ball and his reaction time between Anelka flicking the ball on and the ball hitting his arm was basically non existent.

Penalties for handball basically shouldn't exist, because the definition is that the handball must be deliberate, and no-one is stupid enough to handle the ball in the penalty area deliberately, except for saving a certain goal. There is the odd exception where someone just has a brain freeze but it's pretty rare.
Cobblers, but meh, can't be arsed with it anymore.

The directive is actually that if you have your hands above your shoulders, it's deliberate. Otherwise the patented John Terry "hold both hands high in the air while charging down a shot" would be legal. Hence Eto'o's handball late on would have been a penalty- if the referee could say with certainty that the ball did hit his arm, and since it hit him somewhere around the armpit i don't see how he could.

Question on the away goals rule.

If the scores was 2-2 over two legs (1-1 @ Nou Camp & 1-1 the Bridge) could they have gone to extra-time?

Ref365 gives his take on the Chelsea penalty decisions. I agree with him on everything but the Malouda penalty shout- which i didn't think was actually a foul.

What he says is fair enough, although the Drogba one was a penalty as he himself concedes, even if he wouldn't have given it. Think Drogba's rep might've counted against him, which is probably poetic justice, reap as you sow and all that.

Must be said tho that even the two pens he would have given would've totally changed the game. Even if only one is scored it would've still been pretty much game over. Barca would had to chase the game more and yer Chavs could've exploited the space.

Chelsea haven't covered themselves with glory, but I still reckon that when guys like grecian, Mr P & Cozza (none of whom have any love for the Burberry-clad nouveau riche west London tossbags as far as I know) reckon it was a stitch-up there must be something in it.

Have sympathy for the Tigers, soft spot for them and spent many afternoons having my bollocks froze off at the old Boothferry Park, but Brown is such a see you next time it's hard not to enjoy it slightly.

Chickens, counting & hatched Philip; chickens, counting & hatched. :p
