Doubt he chose Cardiff over Sydney for the lifestyle, no.
Townsville mate, not Sydney. Fowler actually pretty anonymous up here, have seen him several times at one of my local spots having dinner with his wife, never gets hassled, maybe only one out of 100 people recognise him and 1n 1000 ask for a signature. Think he'd be loving the anonmynity of it all.

Ah, fair dos.

I thought that when he got the arse from Liverpool Sydney were interested in signing him tho (think Butcher was the manager at the time?) before he signed on with Cardiff. Might be wrong tho.

Possible but that would have been when sydney signed Yorke i feel so their Marquee "import player at end of career in europe looking to make quick buck in paradise with relative anonyminity" position

Better suited to townsville i reckon...sydney's a ****hole. (so is townsville but it's smaller and nicer this time of year)

Heh, would much prefer to be playing football in a temperate climate rather than a tropical one. (although it gets bloody hot down here in summer too) Reckon, with no first team football for 9 months or so, he'll struggle in the heat up there.

Must say WD to Newcastle last night, they deserved that win.

Petrovski ****s me ni-end though. Flaps his arms around in exasperation if a pass doesn't hit on his big toe or if he doesn't get the ball every time he asks for it. **** thinks Pele or something.

Two new caps, but no Viduka - Socceroos - Fox Sports

Mark Bresciano, Jacob Burns, Tim Cahill, Nick Carle, David Carney, Scott Chipperfield, Chris Coyne, Jason Culina, Bruce Djite, Richard Garcia, Vince Grella, Brett Holman, Mile Jedinak, Brad Jones, Josh Kennedy, Harry Kewell, Adrian Madaschi, Scott McDonald, Mark Milligan, Lucas Neill, Jade North, Michael Petkovic, Mark Schwarzer, Matthew Spiranovic, Shane Stefanutto, Mile Sterjovski, Carl Valeri, Dario Vidosic, Luke Wilkshire, Rhys Williams.
Reckon that is one of the better Socceroos squad I've seen in a while. We few youngsters been given a try. A few journymen being given a shot. A couple of Asian boys been given a shot after some good form. And most importantly no charity A-League caps.

Short on experience in defence with no Emerton, Wilkshire, Moore and Beauchamp. Will be interesting if they give youngsters like Williams, Milliigan or Spiranovic. Or they give the experienced journymen in Coyne, Madaschi or North a short.

Wilkshire is there. I dare say with him on the right and Chipperfield on the left, all we need is a partner for Neill.

Anyone know anything about Rhys Williams? Never seen the guy play. Is he worth his selection, or just a shot in the dark?

Word i heard on foxsports last night was that Wales were looking to get him as well, so Aus grabbed him first (or he chose, not sure which). I also haven't seen him but given that wales were also chasing him this selection is sort of like a "get yer mitts off him" style selection.

Good squad, well rounded with A-League players and overseas players.

Over the moon not to see Viduka get selected. Piece of ****.
