James Tredwell 6 for 27. Good batting line-up he run through as well (Hughes, Morgan, Malan).

unbelievable end to the Durham-Surrey game, Surrey were so far ahead at one point (30 runs ahead of Durham with 9 overs to go), but Durham haul it back and win by 1 run. Blackwell taking 2 wickets with the last 2 balls to leave Ramprakash stranded on 109 not out.

Surrey want five off the last over to beat Durham - 100 up for Ramps.

Dammit, Cricinfo behind the pace! Was that a report from the ground?

Yea I'd give that game up, pretty funny Surrey choking like that. Oh and Plunkett seems to be getting worse with each passing game.

Nah...i'm listening to the commentary on Radio Newcastle...couldn't get to the game today, despite the fact i'm only about 2 minutes from the ground :-(

So Paul Horton can't buy a run in FC cricket this year but has hit consecutive centuries in the FPT despite a poor previous record. Ton for Chilton aswell..decent win, going well in the FPT probably need another 3 wins out of 5 matches to get to the QF's.

I see we managed to scrape a draw in the CC whilst I was away thanks to Ashwell, who seems to be the opposite to Horton, having a rough time in the OD's so far but killing it in the championship.

I'm thinking the Smith as opener experiment has run it's course - decent enough idea from Moores but I think it's time for Chilton to open in CC and perhaps Cross again in the one day stuff

Nah imo, whatever happens, Chilton has to stay where he is. He is not an opener. From what i hear the championship game this week was a case in point, struggled against the swinging ball but was fine when it stopped in the second innings.

Elevating Prince or picking Brown would be better options.

Saw Chilton on the final day against Notts on Saturday and I reckon he'd get eaten alive against the new ball at the mo. Sticks around like a limpet and gradually makes runs but would get absolutely blown away at the top.

Prince is too important in the middle order to move.

Reading the paper yeasterday and they couldn't help but give Middlesex **** for signing Phil Hughes because you are just playing him into form and to smash England into the ground (mind you the journalists are rubbish. They should be made to hand back their degrees).

Then again Test cricket is a whole different kettle of fish and anything can happen.

Run its course? He's had 7 innings. He's done well in the 3 limited overs games and didn't score more than a handful of runs in the CC games (but then neither did Horton).

Knee-jerk reactionism gets you nowhere in cricket.

Oh and wow Middlesex are trying to get bowled out in an even more embarrassing and useless fashion than yesterday.

Well, was looking forward to taking a look at Alex Hales, but then he gets a bit of a stinker first up and Noffke is on a hattrick.

See you the pie man goes

Smith is an outstanding bowling prospect - I'm afraid I simply don't see the point of burdening him with the duties of being an opening bat.

There was discussion about Meaker a while back in this thread. Here is some major clarification. Turns out he was timed at 92mph in a system that reputadly gives slow readings. The important note is that it is the top speed recorded by an England bowler at Loughborough.

Would look like the strong partnership of Masters and Napier are reunited as a potent force in County cricket with combined figures of 18-4-65-5. Chris Wright continues his respectable form this season with 1/40 off 9, he does look a pretty solid bowler with that Ishant Sharma-esque approach to the crease and action.

Some interesting scores coming in from around the country, a number of rain affected games.

You wouldn't have backed Scotland to make the day's best total, that's for sure. Though it looks like it won't be enough.

And a quick  at Middlesex of course. Two shockers in a row for them.
