Punjab sneak home in the last ball!

Irfan was very calm on the last ball to take Punjab home. Good man.

Good knock from Mahela.

Is it time for Knight Riders to look to youth and start playing for next season. Seriously give Mathews, Mendis, Henriques and Yashpal Singh a game. No doubt all they will do next game is bring in another no hoper in Dave Hussey. Though the real worry for the KKR is the lack of Indian talent outside the guys they are playing. Though it is the hidden talent from the other sides that have done the job, not the proven domestic performers.

Still would like to see this side out there next match:

Banerjee
Hodge (c)
Mathews
Ganguly
Henriques
Saha (wk)
Yashpal Singh
Agarkar
Kartik
Sharma
Mendis

No-hoper like Dave Hussey?

Yeah, horrendous Twenty20 player...

Their season might be shot, but what's to gain out of playing for next year?

Wasim Jaffer plays.

Dillon du Preez makes his IPL debut. Looking forward to seeing how he gets on.

Getting Mathews up to international standard by the Twenty20 WC, clearly.

Hussey in poor form and Mathews in brillant form, pretty easy choice for mine.

Though really they should be trying to change things up. The current formula isn't working. At the very least it time to drop Dinda and play Mendis and Singh.

McCullum not going to get dropped as he is captain. But might be worth giving someone else a shot at the top of order like Saha or Banerjee. They have to get more out of their Indian players.

He said he would resign if they don't make the semi-finals, when is that mathematically impossible? Drop him then.

van Wyk should be opening. His doing a diligent job batting in the middle-order but he is a specialist opener.

And Mendis of course has to play.

Reckon it ain't that bad. All depends on how Uthappa goes.

Jaffer is a ridiculous inclusion though.

Looks like BRC will never learn. Kallis isn't a Twenty20 player and the Kiwi batsmen are better then Boucher with the limited overseas players. I'm sure du Preez is a good player, but over Steyn?

But Bouch has been scoring runs (at a healthy strike-rate) and winning the side game(s). Ryder can't survive an over.

Kallis on the other hand is bowling real pies and his batting isn't comparable to say Cam White. Not sure why he is playing, its not like his coach has much time for him (or Bouch).
