Surely Stickers can't choke..

Oh, Edwards!

Can't believe Harwood didn't start running straight away. Batsmen should have been communicating between balls, surely!

And Rajasthan get up, Deccan really bottled it a bit in the last over or so. Royals always in front, but Deccan should have ended up taking it to the last ball.

Dwayne Smith
Rohit Sharma
Fidel Edwards

Trio of dumbass mistakes costs Hyderabad the game. Amazingly stupid.

What did Smith do? Was it Sharma who misfielded out in the deep?
Dwayne Smith dropped the ball that missed the run out (the one where they were debating if the 2nd run after the umpire called for the 3rd umpire was allowed).

Sharma misfielded out in the deep.

Fidel Edwards dropped the throw from Gilly when he shouldn't have even taken it.

And add to that RP Singh missed the run out at the end.

Lol, bit of an early call for a T20 match chasing 140 surely?

Rajasthan romping home now.
Yeah, was a comment made with Rajasthan's recent batting woes in mind. Even with today's win though, the concerns are still there.

Btw, does anyone else hate this blue vs. blue uniforms?

Mumbai are blue too right?

**** uniforms this year. Delhi's and Hyderabad's were cooler last year.

The problem with Warnie's team is that his so-called overseas batsman is Smith who's clearly not suited to this form of the game. He's too stodgy, you need to have big shots to score quickly and he's not a six hitter and is struggling to stay in let alone hit it off the square. He's struggled in SA conditions which are more bowler-friendly.

Great debuts from Carseldine and Harwood underlining yet again the depth in Aussie cricket. If they were born in one of the other countries they would probably have had a run in international cricket before now. Carseldine showed Smith how it's done.

RR keep their hopes alive! There is a lot of room for improvement but they are hanging in there .... hopefully guys like Smith will start firing and things will improve

Smith is a very good Twenty20 bat and was an integral part of Rajasthan winning the comp last year. However he's at the end of a tough season and coming off a few injuries which isn't really conducive to hard hitting and what not. Reckon they should rest him for a few matches for the sake of him and the team.

Some forlorn hope. He hasn't got the shots for this abbreviated form of the game, nor the technique to survive when the ball is swinging. SA would be crazy to select him for the T20 WC, (he rarely plays for them in this format anyway) they have enough of their younger players doing well. Besides he looks extremely overweight which can't be helping his footwork.

The Royals still look short of class but might improve when Watson returns which means Smith will have to be dropped. Warne has to be always selected, Carseldine can't be dropped now and is a better hitter than Smith anyway, Watson is a must which gives them a real Aussie flavour.

Deccans will be disappointed. Edwards now departs and suddenly they don't look that strong a side on paper.

The next match should be good with two much more attractive sides than RR or DC.

Briony you're refusing to acknowledge that Smith has had injury problems and hasn't had the chance to have consistency in his batting for a long time.

8 wins should make things easy for teams to get a place in to the semis, at this stage

team - games remaining - wins needed [%of remaining games]
DD - 9 - 4 [44%]
DC - 8 - 4 [50%]
MI - 8 - 5 [62%]
K11 - 8 - 5 [62%]
RR - 7 - 5 [71%]
BRC - 7 - 5 [71%]
CSK - 8- 6 [75%]
KKR - 7- 7 [100%]

Vijay makes his IPL debut. The Daredevils won the toss and will bat first at Wanderers'. How many big hits will we see here?

He's an inconsistent batsman. He played the one day series against us so in theory he's had time to adjust to the conditions but others have adapted to the SA pitches better than him even though he's had more experience of playing on them.

Sehwag and Vettori are sitting out. And of course, David Warner also makes his debut.

Has anybody read Ben Sammy's latest article? Look at the list of bench warmers for a good laugh.
