Actually flipped a coin on each of the matches after yesterdays game, heads for the home side, tails for the away side. Would be sitting on 5/7 with that method, might try it next week.

2/7 atm. Come onnnn the Cows.
Likewise.

Not sure if I mentioned this here, but I had an argument with my gf a while back about tipping. She says it's mostly random and I think it's something you can improve and get better at. Long story short we set up a tipping comp on oztips this year for just us to test our theories. She tips on a whim, has a very basic knowledge of the game, but definitely doesn't follow it. I check injuries, form, home advantage, previous results etc etc.

She's killing me!! :-O She guessed this week. Literally placeholder tips in case she forgot to do them later in the week (she did). She's 3/7 atm, and up by three for the first 4 rounds :(

Looking like there's real merit to her theory.

I would actually suggest its a combination of both, there are some real theories which do have merit and you'll be better off sticking with, e.g Manly at home sunday arvo, Melbourne at home, Warriors at home, Raiders at home at night time. Sure sometimes they do fail but most of the time you'll go well sticking with them.
But for games like panthers vs tigers and roosters vs eels it really is anyones guess.

So should have gone with my gut there. The same fixture last year ended up the same way. Roosters were missing their Origin players, and I think had an injury or 2. No one rated them, and the Eels had just come off a victory. Wasn't convinced by the Eels so tipped against them and sure enough Roosters came out and surprised everyone by beating them.

Next week i'm tipping who I think will lose.

And knowing my luck they'll all lose and I won't get any points..

Only thing making me feel mildly better is that everyone is having a **** round...still pushing for bagel bonus points.

1/7 so far.

My worst ever tipping week since I've been in any comp. Unbelieveable, though at least my post on being uneasy about Parra winning on Friday night proved prescient (though I stuck with them, and they're ****ed).

So...nobody else at looking zero then?

Least it looks as if i'll only be dropping 3-4 points...though i remember someone tipped exact opposite to me...

Well Cronulla's great start continues - 4 players charged and three of them up for suspension if guilty - Gallen, Snowden and Talupapa.

Can't be for anything done in tackles on the weekend, anyway. I think Missy's is for leading with the feet in trying to save a try.

Thats it I officially give up on Misi he is **** where is David Simmons he's a much better option on the wing

Covell should have been charged.

Think it's possible to know too much about a sport for tipping purposes. Know squat about AFL but have finished 3rd & 1st out of 20-ish on CW the two years I've done it. Just vote table 95% of the time, so make of that what you will.

5/7 here so far ftr.

Surely it's time for Nathan Stapleton to play or maybe even Bronx Goodwin!
The NRL hasnt registered Goodwin's contract as he's essentially still taking legal action against the Raiders and the NRL's contract so they wont register it until the legal process is finished.

Looks like I'll finish the weekend with a respectable 3/8.

For a while I was sure I wasn't going to break the duck.
