What is going on with Afghanistan? Considering the facilities and the lack of proper cricket for anyone there until the end of Taliban, it would be absolutely astonishing if they make the WC.

On the other hand, what does it say about other countries who've had money pumped into them for much longer without any discernible improvement?

Only one I've thought for more than a split second on there is Canada-Uganda... and I suppose the Afghans are a bit of a punt, but Bermuda, well... they're awful.

Had to really think about the Bermuda one. It's one of those matches that screams UPSET so loudly i have a feeling it's going the other way.

TBF most the Afgans that lived and played in Pakistan are Afgans. Unlike the Oman side who basically a 11 Pakistans in their side.

The missed up part is that most afghans still hate cricket.. and don't want to watch or play it.. they are in to soccar.. so no mater what... even if afghanistan qualify for world cup or even wins the world cup it won't bother afghans..

Trust me it will. Cricket already started making huge strides in Afghanistan & is in a state of over taking Soccer anytime soon. The only thing req is ICC has to pump in some money & help them develop the facilities. If this is done, Cricket could soon be the #1 sport in Afghanistan.

A little bit of trouble for the Dutch against Denmark. Bukhari out of the attack after conceding 13 from 2 overs, and now Borren pulls a muscle after bowling his first two balls. Denmark 40/1 after 12.2, so a cautious start but enough wickets in hand so far to hit out later.

Ireland away to a great start against Oman in what will probably be their easiest game.

much better start by Kenya, admittedly against weaker opposition than last night. Hope they keep it up!

Much better, Hopefully they dont let UAE back into it. 25/3 is a great start. Also Obanda in for Waters by the looks of it....

saw that - can't say I'm happy with the decision, rate him much higher than Ouma. Good to see Obanda back.

Great start from Lameck - hope the early bowling change was tactical not forced by an injury to Ongondo.

Scotland are in early trouble. two wickets down and a man injured :-O

Yeah, as we both know, Ouma struggles to convert starts. Maybe Kennedy isnt good for keeping since injuring his hand the other day? And a run out as I return from Dinner. Good stuff.

Good point. Hopefully Obanda will get some decent time in the middle to play himself into form. he is going to be a bit rusty.

4 down now for UAE :)
