Watching back on Vettori's haul in NZ vs Australia when only 18, and he was giving the ball a big tweak back then.
It's true, Vettori did turn the ball a lot further back then and was a genuine wickettaker. He does still seem to give the ball a rip but it seems to be a lot more over-spin - I do wonder why he can't alter things slightly and get more side spin.

Its quite funny that despite Vettori's lack of real penetration and spin, there's still a chance he could become just the 2nd cricketer after Kapil Dev to do the 4000 run & 400 wicket test double. Currently needs 112 wickets and about 850 runs. Would probably need to play another 36 tests at his current wickets-per-test rate to get those 112 wickets. Given he's just turned 30, its not totally unrealistic.

Enough with the personal insults from both sides, please.
Who do you rate the highest of the 4, vic, as CW's SLA Trade Union rep?

36 tests is about 8 years' worth for NZders tho, isn't it?

Nah, it's about 5 years based on the 91 tests he played in 12 years since his debut as an 18 year-old

It's okay I'll just stick the clique on ignore, I know from before stalkers don't get banned on here anyway. Won't be missing anything and I can still laugh at NZ winning sweet FA.
I'm sure your secretly happy Ryder's been doing well of late :tooth:

Micheal Clarke is better than all in that list. Yuvraj Singh comes a close second because he nails the world's best emerging batsman outside the subcontinent, NZ and SA, Kevin Pietersen always.

We still beat you in a test though. And in virtually every ODI.

And someone you'd describe as a fat nZ slogger would stroll leisurely (eating pies and drinking booze) into your side. Might be able to score more than 51 all out that way. :p

Still haven't seen Shakib.

Reckon Harris has only been getting better, and proves that you don't need to spin the ball square to be an effective spinner. Love watching Vettori bowl, whilst Panesar has the most "natural" ability of them all, but doesn't have a Plan B. Not really sure if he has a Plan A either, tbh.

When you see Shakib you'll see the guy with the most "natural" ability IMO. Apparently he doesn't even practice his bowling, just goes out their and delivers in match conditions.
