think Modi said today that 2 SA player will be allowed as domestic players. the ones already in the team wont be allowed as that it will be fresh recruits

and interestingly its General election in SA on 22 April and it does clash with the IPL held in SA:)

The election shouldn't be too much of a problem, only the ****** that is going to get voted in

Good news but I haven't read that anywhere. Do you have a link?

Roelof van der Merwe who is likely to make his 20/20 debut for South Africa on Friday night has been signed up by Bangalore. All-rounder, van der Merwe joins fellow South Africans, Kallis, Boucher, Steyn, du Preez and KP (:)).

Bangalore have also signed up former South African coach, Eric Simons as their bowling coach. South African, Ray Jennings is the head coach of the franchise.

A first since the advent of the franchise system that a provincial first class cricketer is selected for the national side?

Interesting to see him get a IPL deal as well considering his real form was in the MTN Championship this year. He disappointed in the Pro 20.

Cool.

I wasn’t begrudging van der Merwe, actually think he could do a decent role for the South Africans. Bat maybe top 3, bowl at the death and against some rather weak bowling attacks in the IPL, he could really do some damage, as he is a tremendous striker of the ball.

i really pity the Indian team - within 3 days of the NZ tour completion they will need to fly out to South Africa for the micky mouse matches and play non-stop for next 3 months .

wont be surprised if they are sluggish in the World T 20 championships - really the only thing the that's close to the BCCI is the moolah.:@

Yeah, those poor players being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars. They always have the option of skipping the IPL and resting for the T20 WC and tours ahead though.
