Wait till they get hold Capetown ****s.Cool, so I get to watch the Pune Poo Sticks in my back yard.. I absolutely can't wait
Agree. How many people here have been to Cape Town in late April/lateMay?
There are gale force winds and rain that comes down sideways.
For SA, Durban seems to be the only option.
Cant play on the South Coast due to the weather and by May the highveld will be bone dry and the grass will be dying.
Really, it is a bad time for both SA and England. UAE may be a better bet than both, though I doubt they have enough staduims to sread the tournament around and get decent crowds every day
I agree it is a bloody circus. But a farce? How exactly? It brings in truckloads of money for the players of other countries, and perhaps more than what they earn in the whites for a full year in about a month's time. Plus, it has led to a wholly new concept in cricket, to enhance it's popularity without affecting the core game that is Test Cricket. It should be fairly well supported in SA, but only by the Indian community I imagine, ask most fans here about the IPL and you get blanked.. And quite right too, the whole thing is a circus and a farce
Valid comments there, especially regarding the weather as April and May's England is not everyone's cup of tea. There is more to it than that. The management has not been the sharpest (diffrent decisions on this season and the aborted Champions League, ICL clashes etc). Also the money isnt guaranted and last season was played before the economic downtun.
If this goes ahead in England then I dont know what grounds they would use. Its in April right? That could get very cold and windy.
So like, 3am? Won't exactly be seeing much.
I was offered a opportunity to write reports of IPL matches for money, actually working for a website. But with it being so late at night, and reports expected within a couple of hours, it's not possible while I'm at school.
AWTA there.Precam and his proxies IMO
Money, presumably. I think some of the franchises would have some serious financial problems if it was cancelled. Especially since the Champions League was also cancelled. What the hell? What's the point of having an INDIAN cricket leauge outside India. Either have it home or don't have it all. You will never see the entire NBA season being played in India just because of security threats in America would you? No..they would either play it in america or cancel the season
There goes the Lunar Premier LeagueI like it because of the atmosphere.
Why on earth would the cancel it? Honestly, I can't think of one logical reason from a business perspective. And that's what it is after all, a business, so as long as it'll be profitable overseas, there's little point in not trying to relocate. What the hell? Doubt they'd be very happy, but they'd be a lot more upset if it was cancelled all together. Apparently the BCCI is going to compensate them in some way as well.Wonder how the owners of the franchisers are going to feel about this. I mean they are going to lose alot of money with the move, and from a selection perspective there would have been some players picked with the Indian conditions in mind, so much different to English seaming conditions, that's for sure.
Not looking forward to the InternationalPL so much now.
Not long.I dont know much about Indian politics. For how long has this election been scheduled to clash with the IPL?
