"Official" England A vs New Zealand A in New Zealand

Flem274*

123/5
30 yr old left arm medium pacer. On the bottom of the list of wellingtons contracted players.

Never gets a game as he is a 4 day specialist, and only gets a run when the big guns are away.

Cant knock him though, hes down at the basin everyday bowling.

Not much chop though.
Got Laxman didn't he? Must be a bit embarrassing for Laxman..

England, after plummeting to 154/6 somehow scrapped their way up to 340, and NZA are now in deep trouble at 53/3. Good to see Flynn scrapping his way back into form though. We'll desperately need him at his bloody minded best come the Indian test series.

4-28 now, christ.

Yea I think it's about time he got in England squads at the very least. Knowing England they'll probably pick him for one day cricket on roads...

Davies 3/26

don't care that he bowls 75mph, can't do much worse than Khan for the Test squad...
Indeed and as New Zealand A are reasonably strong opposition, it can be said that his only likely deficiency is bowling on flat pitches rather than bowling to good batsmen.

Key = imbecile.

That's right don't let Davies get his 5-fer for the second game running and bowl the rubbish instead.

That really kills me when some bowler who hasn't done anything comes in and gets the tail out. Grrrrrrrrr.

Plunkett was going at under 3 an over with a wicket yet only got 8 overs while 5/6 an over Mahmood gets 16 overs. Happened in the last match as well. Joseph gets given the tail and Davies misses out on his 5fer.

Lol @ Mahmood getting a 50, then getting smashed but getting a couple of tailenders out.

Though to be fair they did clear the tail up pretty quickly in the end and thats been a massive failing for England.

England Lions in a pretty strong position now, shame we couldn't manage a couple of wickets at the end of the 4th day.

Fair play to Luke Wright, who is not a cricketer I rate too highly (not sure that'll bother him a great deal mind), 69 in the first innings and 105 in the second, both scored at a pretty quick rate.

Haven't seen him bat too much in first-class cricket, so may be doing him a dis-service. His one-day batting always looks a little hectic and thoughtless, perhpas his shot selection improves in the longer version and his judgement in the deliveries he goes after improves.

Davies with the valuable wicket of How, no surprise there.
Less and less valuable of late unfortunately. Plunkett grabs the wickets of Redmond and Flynn (much to their great embarrassment I hope), leaving the fate of the match resting squarely on 2 meter, wonderboy and Jimmeh.

Wonderboy?

Oh, you mean Hay? :p

(I know Hays not playing), I assume Williamson is the one you're talking about?

Redmond and Plunkett are almost even tbf, but Flynn should be hiding in a corner right now.

Thank god Hay got some runs after a golden duck in the first innings (for CD, I mean).

Wonderboy going along nicely, 32*. Lets hope he can push on to a good score, hopefully England bring Wright on to bowl.

Mahmood comfortably bowling the most overs again, bafflingly.

Late wickets changing his figures from awful to barely passable.
