YK decision to bowl first first would be right up there with Hussain and Ponting's decision to bowl first in 02 and 05 Ashes.

That's harsh. Hold their catches and they're all over Sri Lanka right now, both these batsmen have been dropped.

Younis' plan during the toss was to obviously let two SL batsmen get to 200, and then score a 300 himself

As I write, Sri Lanka are b533 for 5. This makes the total scored in three (incomplete) first innings of this series so far as 1944. Another 56 runs and we will touch 2000 - and 20 wickets have not yet fallen in all the first innings of this series put together.

Want to know what doped wickets can do to the bowlers (and their averages) to spectator interest in the game, to the despair of those who love Test match cricket and the mirth of those who hate it.

I have spent the last five days here in England and it has been a pleasure talking to so many cricket lovers who are disgusted at the way the game is going. It is sad that MCC, who were surely inhabited by those who loved the game for itself were so damningly bureaucratic and so goddamn 'British' when they ran the game and ICC (and those who control it indirectly) who run it now are inhabited by those who love the lucre they can squeeze out of the game and the game be damned !

I dunno -- WIndies vs. England right now is running it pretty close!

One the one hand, at least there's been something to talk about in that series. On the other, it's been an absolute farce.
Nah, there's been two really entertaining tests in that series. But maybe "most boring series" would be more accurate.

Disagree. The first test had a 'great' ending and the third test was a nail bitter come the end. This has been pure ****e thus far. The only good thing to come out of it is Umar Gul. He deserves a medal...

The standard of cricket in Windies England series however has been poor.
