Interesting how many of the state sides have gone in with only 3 specialist bowlers. Perhaps setting a precedent for the test side.

NSW looks like it may have to rely upon Henriques and Thornley as 4th and 5th bowler.

WA have the 3 frontline pacemen. I hope South Australia don't bat all day tomorrow, no real spin bowling option other than Vogues left arm trundlers.

Even Queensland, 3 frontline bowlers plus the all-rounders.

Henriques is opening the bowling. Martin Love at the crease, wish I didn't have to work and could be at the Gabba watching QLD's all time leading run scorer.

I don't mind SACA picking Manou, O'Brien, Christian at 6, 7, 8 at all, I really think Dan Christian's bowling is underrated by some at this stage.

Also what's everyone's thoughts on ****ley? A mate of mine reckons he's a dead set future Aussie quick. Good chance or what? Please no "he's a NSW quick, he got his baggy green cap when he got his blue one"..

Yeah has done well the last 3 or so matches now tbh, ever since Crossy was brought in as a specialist bat. Good signs though...

Tipping a real breakout year for Wade in 09/10. Has had his struggles, didn't gain as many fans this year as he did throughout his very impressive debut season. Just get the feeling that he will come good and start turning his starts into big hundreds soon.

The interesting about Bird's action, is as bad as it looks. It was only one ball out of 20 odd that was over the limit. Though that was his effort ball. Probably a sign that he can't get it much better then it is now. He does have a natural bend as well, which makes it look worse.

On ****ley certainly hope not.He is an important cog in the new south wales attack.
Tasmania chased him last year but he said no,the fact he is getting game time now hopefully he will say NO.
NSW have good speedsters considering hazelton can't get a game.
****ley is playing IPL this year hopefully that will be enough money to fulfll his needs.

Yeah, and his complaining that NSW players got IPL contracts while Victorians missed out; his lack of concern for a felled Bulls player who got sconned in the head at the Gabba a few weeks ago. He just comes across as a guy who loves himself a little too much.

I believe within the Victorian hierarchy that Crossy is a major concern. He has been within the system for quite some time now, and his batting really has not progressed. Largely the reason they chased Wade down.

I can't judge if he is a tool or not, many cricketers are. I can see him shifting states sometime soon in his career.

They only picked 1 in this Shield match though, while Hazlewood was off playing in a Masters 20 20 Match in NZ.
