Clarke's dismissal sounds bad on Cricinfo. Was it as bad as they're saying?

Cricinfo said:
Steyn to Clarke, OUT, silly shot and thats the end of Clarke just before tea! A needless shot from the vice-captain, chasing one pitched up rather wide and gently starting to shape away, he's nowhere near the pitch and swings a thick outside edge through to Boucher and Steyn is red-faced in celebration

North is now accomplished in county cricket 1000 runs nearly and 15 wkts last season.
Surprised he wasn't signed for a full year this year.
Would like to see him in the one day side instead of ameron white to be honest tho.
Pretty sure Hampshire have signed him for the whole season. Though looks like he'll be missing for at least some of it now.

We've got the tactics right IMO, get runs or get out. Can't see many batters staying around for too long on that wicket, 300 will be a great total!

The wicket's not that bad at all, fair amount of movement through the air though. Australia haven't brought too many swing bowlers mind....

Clarke's dismissal was godawful, really, really loose shot. I'm very interested to see how Haddin bats, not too sure an aggressive approach is the way to go, more measured accumalation and crease occupation might be the better option. With the ball moving around the 4 balls are bound to come.

how much was swing and how much was angle?
Not only did it swing quite a bit but it seemed to seam right into the wickets. Ponting was looking good for at least 100 until that. He's an effin machine.

The ball's seaming plenty too. Morkel's been as dangerous as anyone and he's not exactly a swing bowler. Peter Siddle in particular will be absolutely loving the look of this pitch.

It actually seamed quite a bit imo. Swung in, pitched, and seamed straight through the top of Ponting's right pad into the stumps. Beautiful ball, and Ponting's disbelieving statue impersonation right after was priceless.
