The wicketkeeper standing up to the stumps has no small amount to do with height as well as speed. For instance, no-one would ever stand up to the stumps to Andrew Caddick in ODIs, whereas Mark Ealham they almost always would. Yet the pace difference was perhaps 2-3mph at best.I mean real medium-pacers, not your Glenn McGrath/Jacques Kallis types, the Brendan Nash/Paul Collingwood/Andrew McDonald trundlers who the keepers will always stand up to.
Height plays a considerable part in whether the wicketkeeper stands up to the stumps and judging medium-pacer on where the wicketkeeper stands is a bit iffy IMO.
