Dolphins 117/2 (HD 34, Rowley 33*) beat the Lions 112/8 (Vilas 55*, Abdulla 3/28, Louw 2/13) by 8 wickets
Warriors 149/5 (Prince 46, Thyssen 41*, du Preez 2/21) beat the Eagles 131/7 (Elgar 28, Botha 1/17) by 18 runs
Good return from Ashwell. It was his first game back from injury and he made a valuable score at a good pace after the Warriors had a terrible start (3 down for 13 of 5 overs). The Warriors will only get stronger as they can now welcome back Kallis and Ntini. They started their Pro20 campaign with de Bruyn opening the bowling and amateur spinners making up the numbers but they could end it with an attack of Ntini, Tsotsobe, Parnell, Theron, Botha, Kallis and Robbie P.
The Warriors are joined in the playoffs by the Dolphins, who welcomed back Hashim Amla yesterday, the Cobras and the Eagles.
It was a poor outing from the Lions yesterday as they were comprehensively beaten. They are struggling to field a competitive side due to injuries to Kruger and Vandiar but one plus would be the emergence of Craig Alexander, who is bowling extremely quickly at the moment. He touched 150kph yesterday and naturally bowls big out-swing. If they can get Kruger fit, a SuperSport attack of Nel, de Wet, Kruger and Alexander is pretty good.
