Nothing to get excited about for Lancs fans really. I guess they will decide on a second CC game during the season

2nd 20/20

South Africa Under-19s 147/7 (Vandiar 44, Pienaar 37, Riazuddin 2/23, Sheikh 2/25) beat England Under-19s 126/8 (Mickleburgh 55, Pienaar 2/15, Kaber 2/17) by 21 runs

South Africa win the series 2-0.

England were well ahead after five overs in their chase, already had over 50 on the board but the wheels fell off and once the part-time spinners came on, the runs completely dried up.

U19's now move onto Gauteng where they have a 3 day tour match next week against a University Sports South Africa XI in Jo'Burg and then a 4 day 'Youth Test' in Benoni, starting on the 31st.

Somerset v Durham, at Taunton, in the Championship? They could at least have picked a game that might end in a result...no televised Roses T20 either, interesting.

In other news, a test has been dropped from the SA tour, so it will now be only 4 tests...still 5 ODI's and 2 T20I's though.

University Sports South Africa XI beat England Under-19s 8 wickets...

Eng 19's 119/9 dec (Redfern 36, Viljoen 3/31), Sports XI 124 (Sodumo 33, Sheikh 5/48), U19's 111 (Borthwick 25, Viljoen 6/27), Sports XI 107/2 (Aronstam 65*)

Not a good outing by the U19's, beaten in less than 2 full days. Youth test starts on the 31st.

Good early season signing for Lancs, Ashwell Prince, and hopefully Peter Moores will be linking up with the Red Rose county this week!

So Moore confirmed at Lancs on 3yr deal. Hope it turns out well for both of us.

Hopefully Watkinson manages to stop himself interfering.

Anyway can't be many people who get sacked only to walk into a better job a month later.

That's the spirit Mr Cumbes - keep dear old Winker busy and out of Moores hair as much as possible

Excellent appointment for me, can see Moores delivering the long awaited County Championship trophy within his three year tenure.

Not so long ago they were trumpeting how the D'Oliveira Trophy was going to be a flagship five-and-always-five one... how quickly things change.

Really is a shame that a couple of Twenty20s are preferred to a Test... so obvious I barely need to say it.
