Yeah, was mildly confused about the Stories that Kewell might play against Japan. Hasn't played in 2 months, and he was never selected in the intial squad. Important to the team he may be, but it's not worth it if he's only 70% fit, can only play a sub-role and risk further injury.

I think we are going to struggle big time against Japan.

A draw will be a very good result.
It's still a good squad, but that's really outweighed by the lack of prep time imo. A draw would be okay given all that. Hoperfully we kick butt it he return game.

Interesting thing is that not many Japanese fans think they will win. They are in piss poor form. If your ever going to beat them at home, it is now.

Four Four Two Australias man/woman behind the live comments obviously doesn't think much of Holman (like the rest of us 8|)

Worst thing is, it seems everyone but Verbeek realises it.

EDIT: About Holman, that is.
tbf to the guy he works really hard and he must be really good at training. I always thought his best position was in behind the striker but we've got so many players who play that specific position that he's being worked into the side elsewhere. His workrate is useful but when you've got Valeri, Grella and Culina in the side you don't need his work, you need some flair.

Lol-man!

This is evidence enough as to why Viduka is so important to our side even though his goal scoring record isn't the best. We need a target man to hold up the ball.

Once you start turning the ball over regularly like we did in the midfield the team tends to go into its shell. Fortunately we defended very well tonight.

TBH fair to Holman he plays out of position is better on the wings or behind the strikers. As a lone striker everyone in the squad bar maybe Kennedy would struggle. He does however fit our current set up a lot better then MacDonald, especially away from home.

It is sad however how little out and out strikers we produce. Apart from Dukes, Kennedy and Bruce the rest are all hole players or wingers.
