Simon Katich gives Michael Clarke what he deserves

G.I.Joe

International Coach
Yeah Symonds had for sure.

I don't think Clarke did anything too wrong,

He's played his Cricket for five days and enjoyed his mates company for 5 hours after the match having a few drinks then he'd look to his right and see Andrew McDonald and then to his left he saw Doug Bollinger wouldn't you want to be with Lara Bingle at 11 pm?
Nah, apparently you risk throttling if you don't stay back for a stupid song at midnight.

I'm beginning to understand why Symonds wanted to miss those revolutionary team meetings.

Surely if Symonds has to go through counseling for missing a training session, Katich and Clarke should have to do the same for a physical alteration in the dressing room. Surely this is a case of double standards. At the very least, Clarke's position as Vice Captain should be reviewed.

Surely Symonds' counselling is more due to a series of altercations/infractions and less to do with one specific infraction.

He's done nothing though. He once claimed a grassed catch which could have been a genuine mistake. And that's it. Everything else is like, "i don't like his face for no reason" or "i wish i was in his girlfriend".
Twice at least. Against India, obv, and also versus NZ in an ODI. To claim one catch on the bounce might be considered misfortunate; to claim two looks like you're a cheating Aussie ****, as Oscar Wilde almost said.

Still have my doubts about the India one - haven't seen an angle on that to say it bounced which was any more convincing than the one Graeme Smith caught in Melbourne. The NZ one was diabolical though.

The one against NZ I'll pay but the one against India was far from 'claiming a grassed catch'. I thought he scooped it but at worst, it could have been given either way.

And that article was amateurish ****. I've no doubt Clarke is a knob but "He wants the job too much - which by definition questions his right when the time comes."? Sounds a lot like Rick Ponting before he got the job and Steve Waugh before him (rumours at the time suggest he deliberately undermined Warne to get the spot). Personally, I want the captain gagging for the job but anyway. The rest is bar burps and what this guy probably heard hanging around the SCG player's toilets.

Prominent Australian player in 'hAted by non Aussie fan' shocker! :-O

I like Clarke. Seems like a nice enough guy. Oh but he once claimed a doubtful catch, must be de debil... 8-)
* Twice

EDIT: See that's been pointed out.

Anyway, Katich can be an angry man hey?

I'm a bit confused how you get an incident like this, and it is CLARKE who seems like a bit of a ****wit. Christ, Katich sounds like an absolute nutjob, if what the article says is true. That being said, it is the media who are scum of the earth and no doubt blew it out of proportion.

Seems like Clarke did something to tick some journalist off and they're all out to get him today.

Paul Kent who wrote the not up to the task article is an A-grade wanker btw.

Don't see how much different this is from the Ahktar incident really. Honestly, so sick of these cricketers.

the singing of the team song, Beneath The Southern Cross...
...
Custom dictates that the song's "custodian", currently Michael Hussey, dictates the timing of the song.
I'm puking at the pomposity of it all. I'm not surprised they were throttling each other. Quite frankly I'd throttle someone - if needs be myself - if I had to put up with that sort of crap. "The custodian of the team song"? Yuck. And presumably after they sing the team song they get the benefit of a little sermon from Ricky Ponting about the Spirit of Cricket.

Heh, pompous is the word to describe it.
