I hope you're right, Brumby. France are my tip to retain it. They're quite simply a class above the rest.

Interesting. His club team has been utterly below the boat, IIRC.
Said in today's paper he's the top scorer in the Top 14 frogside with 160 points from 16 games. Dunno if that's true or not tho. However gash Brive have been, Goodey's boot still seems to work.

Old pals act from Johnson partly too. First he recalls White at 35, now Goode. I expect England to acquire a more Leicestery look over the coming weeks.

You may've blocked it out (god knows, I tried to) but yer taffs actually won it with a Grand Slam in 2008.

That was last year?! The Six Nations is one of those tournaments where I forget which tournament was last year and which was 2002's. World Snooker Championship is another. Anyway, still France because they're the best team. And I'm living with a few Welsh people this time round and fate would not be so cruel to me.

The Welsh've actually won the GS twice in the last three years having failed to do it since their halcyon days of Bennett, Davies & JPR in the 70s.

It's not actually a great French team currently, I have to say. They have some class in the backs (Heymans, Jauzion, Poitrenaud), but Lievremont seems determined to cap every eligible French player between now and the next world cup, so have little continuity. Beauxis is a very average pivot and, for some unearthly reason, Livremont has left out Elissade from scrum-half too. They could surprise me, but will finish no higher than third by my estimation.

It's good to see Poitrenaud back, perenially overlooked for France despite being an unbelievable player. Vincent Clerc's out though, so that kinda cancels it out, and Heymans is actually on the bench against Ireland, which is a bit of a shocker. Chabal's back in the pack though, so there's a lot more space for the backs to work with.

I might be overlooking Lievremont's infuriating disrespect for the tournament. If they play their best team, I'd say they're the best team there, and the best team usually wins. But given how unsettled their side might be (massively important in rugby IMO) they could well let someone else in. I'm not too confident in the current state of Irish rugby, so I'll have to say it'll probably be Wales. Ireland seem intent on playing rugby in the most ugly fashion possible, no matter how ineffective it is.

Italy 7/1 @ Betfair to win tomorrow. Don't know about others but I'd definetely be thinking of putting a tenner on that, seems pretty long odds.

Nah, hardly as if England have been that good at HQ recently though?. Still reckon that's pretty decent odds.

Italy have never beaten England, ever. Won't start today.

Hoping the Irish can break their frog jinx finally. Never get a better chance.

6 points thrown away by duff kicking.

England just need to stop giving stupid penalties away and they'll soon have the ball in Italy's half

10 penalties given away in one half of rugby against this shower. One complete utter imbecile in the sin bin.

Not good enough.

You've got no chance of winning anything significant with that sort of indiscipline.

One of the worst games of rugby you are ever likely to see. One too many dinosaurs and a few too many never-beens.
